Stratton verbals to Wyoming

Glad to have him. He is a true duel threat QB. Pretty cool how his HS team would go from Power Option to Spread Shotgun formations in the same game, shows how talented this young man is. I don't know how well he will fit into DC's offense though...

Finally a Stratton with some brains! I hope DC stays on his other two QB prospects as Stratton could become a WR or DB at some point based on his athleticism.

Any chance we could get him to change his last name to something less offensive; like bin laden or Ahmadinijad?

With some good coaching, Stratton very well may develop into one of the best QB's to step foot on the UW campus. He tends to have a "run first" mentality and looks to scramble the moment he even feels the slightest pressure. That being said, he does possess the quicks and the strength to make a few people miss and and break some arm tackles and pick up some yards. His top end speed is very good for a QB, but he won't be able to run away from people like he did in high school. He has good arm strength and throws well while moving, but needs to improve his accuracy on drop back throws. If this guy was 3-4 inches taller, you can bet he would have BCS schools all over him. This was a very, very good get for the Pokes. The 2010 QB class was unusually strong in Colorado this year and Stratton flew a bit under the radar because of it. To be quite honest, this guy is every bit as good or better than ACS. If Christensen keeps this up, we shoudln't have to worry about the QB position for years to come.

Montana had a QB like this that just graduated and is now trying out in the CFL. He was a good passer, but if he had an opening, he had no problem tucking the ball and running. Chances are if he was on the run, he was making a great play. He scampered for numerous touchdowns off tucking the ball and going. Having a QB with that kind of mobility and smarts is so beneficial for an offense. It turns tricky third downs into first downs.
