Stetson @ WYO

Starters looks good, Bench looks good hell everything about this team looks good. Now I would like to see a game against a legit opponent so we can really see what type of defense we have.

I thought Gorski looked rusty, but still not a bad start. He is shooting 50% from the arc, had a nice offensive rebound, and has a solid build that will cause some problems. You could tell he was favoring his broken finger. But, am looking forward to see him play some more.

Nice win and once again the bench played as much as the starters.

Go Pokes!

CU doesn't count? Lol.

Glad Wyoming got the win tonight but honestly i thought they didn't look that great in large stretches of the game. Got very sloppy and went on a couple of scoring droughts. Not near as good of passing tonight. As far as Gorski goes I thought for his first game he looked decent and think he looks like once he is in game shape he will be as much of a factor as anyone else off the bench.

Wyoming better be ready to play on Saturday or they will get beat. New Mexico St. will be a tougher challenge then Colorado was by far. I am sure Shyatt will have them ready to play though.

While NMSt. will be tougher than the last two games, they will not be tougher than CU.
NM State has 3 wins. Those 3 are Stetson, FAMU, and Northern Colorado, all teams that Wyo has beaten.

NM State destroyed FAMU worse than we did CU, but FAMU sucks and their team probably already done for the year.

Wyoming should win this game by 10+ but it won't be a total blowout the way the last couple have been. But then again, no one thought we would DESTROY Colorado the way we did.
Pokes win 60-45.

Pokes could really use some energy from the crowd on Saturday against NMSU. Have a feeling the Aggies are going to keep this one interesting. Get your rears to the AA.

While I agree Wyoming should win the game and is capable of winning by 10+ more so because we will control the tempo... I think New Mexico St. right now is better than CU. New Mexico St. losses are to Wichita St. and St. Mary"s who are both better than CU and then on the road at Utep by 1 where they blew a 13 point lead. Plus New Mexico St. has outside shooters where CU doesn't really. All I am saying is New Mexico St. is better than CU and Wyoming better show up to play.

Man those last 5-7 minutes were hard to watch. We have great supplements to our starting 5, but they're definitely not replacements. Lieberman seemed like the only guy who could make his own shot, but he's too pass happy. And Washington needs to get back soon and take minutes from Bentz, he's awful. Luckily we have experienced veterans who are able to make new guys look good during crucial moments. I guess that's why they call it "garbage time", that's how we looked. Its only game 5 though, I'm pumped for our future

I never give CU the credit they deserve because anytime we beat them it's always labeled as a fluke by everyone, So no they don't count. SMU who beat us at home last year or DU or even Cal would give me a better feeling.

Watched the replay of the game. Pretty dominate normal performance of an over matched team. How awesome is it that we're getting in 3 freshmen at once on the floor together? Nice to see our starters so strong that this kind of stuff is happening, they're helping us build the future right now. Nance is a MONSTER! I need to give Grabau some more credit too as he climbs up our all time 3's charts. That dude is a gamer, silent assassin. As crisp as our last few this game? Nope....but still very nice.

I'm liking everything I'm seeing. Lieberman really looks like he's getting a little better with each game with a lot of natural talent. Our bench looks like they'll all be competing with each other for mins in which they'll most likely make a contribution of some sort. Another game and its all good, with potential to get better. I'll be staying tuned.

This season is going just about as I thought it would before it began. The coaching staff is working the younger players into the games for PT as much as possible in positive situations to get them ready for the last half of the season. They are definitely getting there.
I understand there not being a big crowd there last night, but this team deserves to play with a packed AA. This is the most exciting team and era of Cowboy basketball we have had for a long, long time.

Man I totally agree. That highlighted part is the truth! Back in my days we packed a 15 K seat AA a year after Bailey was gone for a truly dreadful team. The fan base got up for games like that back then, so it's kinda sad to see it empty for a team like this now that is light years ahead of all those Pokes teams since the Bailey/Davis years. I guess it's a 7 to 8 years worth of damage to the program thing. Another thing that might factor in is the economy got smashed during that time too. They say it's back and everything is fine, but I never believe THEM if ya know what I mean? So pocket books might be a little tighter and people may have gotten used to not spending that cash on sports trips.

I really like what I'm seeing out of Jeremy. He's very composed with the ball in his hands and he's a very good passer. Always looking for the open man first on penetration. Shyatt mentioned that he's the 2nd best shooter on the team, so those shots will start falling as his gets more comfortable on the court. His release sure looks good in pre-game warmups.

Important, quality minutes for the bench players so far. Papa Shy has a good problem with depth this year. Waiting for Aka Gorski to get that damn bandage off his hand so he can contribute at a higher level.

That kid is going to be good. REALLY good. 4 points, 3 rebounds in 8 minutes? With his left hand bandaged up....Dang. He was much bigger on the floor than I thought he'd be. We're going to line up quite well against ANYONE in the MWC this year. To quote Bart Scott, "Cant Wait!!!"

You're not the only one who thought that. Nance made the comment after the game that Aka Gorski is bigger than he is. In fact, Larry's high praise for Aka Gorski's all-around game was nice to hear. "He plays a lot older than he is."

No highlight-reel dunk? This is bullshit.

I know. I thought Adams breakaway double pump dunk was petty good. I actually surprised that Adams doesn't have a sportscenter top 10 spot. He's had some pretty good moves. Not just dunks either. The guys is a highlight reel all on his own!
