From the Athletics Director. . .
"This is an exciting time for the Mountain West, but obviously there are many questions still to be answered. This Sunday and Monday the league's athletics directors will meet with our presidents. This will mark the first time the presidents and athletics directors have gotten together during my time at Wyoming. As an athletics director I look forward to this opportunity, and I am very interested to see how the dialogue will unfold. We will talk about many topics regarding the Mountain West such as: governance structure; managing the league; television contracts; future expansion, and how to create conference stability. This will be a great opportunity for the AD's to have dialogue with the leaders (presidents) of our conference.
On another subject, as everyone knows we are searching for a new head coach for our track and field program. We appreciate what Don Yentes did for the program during his tenure. We look forward to the next step in the growth of this program. We will begin interviewing candidates in the next couple of weeks, and hope to have a new coach on board by the end of June. We have been very pleased with the tremendous interest shown in the position."
