It's Championship Track Time. . .
The Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships are underway at Colorado Springs. Today was the final day of the two-day decathlon and heptathlon competition. Sophomore Jenna Mann performed exceptionally well in the heptathlon finishing third. She was spectacular for the Cowgirls just 32 points out of second place. She totaled 4,828 points which broke her own record, and was the second best effort in school history. Junior Katy Hall also competed well for the Cowgirls finishing sixth with 4,282 points. Her performance was the seventh-best effort in Cowgirl history. Junior Brandon Douglass finished sixth for the Cowboys in the decathlon with 6,620 points.

Season tickets for the 2012 football season are on sale, and excellent seats are still available. Season tickets are $195, which is a $35 savings over buying single game seats. Another great deal is the Cowboy Family Plan. A family can buy four season tickets for $500, a savings of $280.

The golf season is in full swing for the Cowboy Joe Club. The Riverton Golf Tournament presented locally by U.S. Energy Corp is scheduled for tomorrow (May 11) at the Riverton Country Club. The event begins at 12:30 p.m. The Worland Golf Tournament, presented locally by Legacy Reserves, follows on Saturday (May 12) at the Green Hills Golf Club. That event tees off at 9 a.m. After this weekend's events, the next golf stop on the tour is the Bell Nob Golf Club at Gillette on Saturday, May 19, at 8 a.m. To register for a tournament or become a sponsor contact the Cowboy Joe Club office at 307-766-6242 or visit here to register.

Congratulations to a pair of outstanding senior UW swimmers who were awarded the first-annual David Schmitt Most Inspirational Cowboy and Cowgirl Athlete Award. Marshall Dilworth won the award for the Cowboy swimmers while Kelsey Conci was honored for the Cowgirls.
Junior Clinton Boutelle was the Pokes' top finisher at the 2012 Mountain West Golf Championship finishing in a tie for 15th of the 40-man field with a 54-hole total of 216 (+3). San Diego State won the championship while the Cowboys finished eighth.
