Getting to Know Us. . .
It's been awhile, but from time to time we like acquainting you with members of our athletics department staff and coaches. Today, please meet Senior Associate Athletics Director/Senior Woman Administrator, Molly Moore.

Moore came to UW in the fall of 2007 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Internal Operations. She was promoted to Associate Athletics Director and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) in July of 2008 and to Senior Associate Athletics Director and SWA in July of 2010. She came to Wyoming from Portland State University, and began her collegiate athletic administrative career in 1999 at her alma mater, Washington State University. She was an outstanding track performer in the throws at WSU from 1995 through 1999. Moore earned her undergraduate degree in biology and psychology, and her master's in education, all from WSU.

Some Questions for Molly:

If you could have competed in another sport in college, what would it have been?
"I loved volleyball; it was my favorite sport in high school."

If you would have chosen another profession, what would it have been?
"I would have been a physical therapist. For nearly my entire undergraduate career, that's what I thought I was going to do. It wasn't until my final semester that I decided I wanted to pursue a career in athletics instead."

What have been your biggest sports moment or moments?
"Personally it would be finishing third in the hammer throw at the PAC-10 Championships as a freshman. It was the first year that that the hammer was a scoring event for women at the championships. It was also the first year I had ever thrown the hammer. My other most unforgettable moment was going to the '98 Rose Bowl to see Washington State play Michigan. Although the Cougars lost, experiencing this event with 14 of my teammates made for some terrific lifelong memories (and there were still two seconds on the clock!)."

What was your favorite television show growing up?
"It was the 'Cosby Show'. Bill Cosby is such a classic and it's something we all sat down together to watch as a family. Great memories."

How about your all-time favorite movie?
"That's a tough one, but 'Shawshank Redemption' stands out as my favorite. I loved the part where Morgan Freeman's character finds the box left for him and sits next to the tree and reads the letter. Great movie!"

What activity has been a tradition with your family?
"We love to play cards. Depending on how many we have and the personalities involved, we either play hearts or hand-and-foot."

Something you've been proud of during your time at Wyoming?
"Since I've now been here for four years, I'm most proud of watching our student-athletes go through their academic and athletic careers with class. I have enjoyed watching them mature from students to adults and becoming successful members of society."

What is your favorite food?
"Any kind of Mexican food."

Your dream vacation?
"A white, sandy beach anywhere."
