let us know what the evening was like, what you saw, how the poor losers were, were there any issues etc....
Man one of those shoulda, woulda, coulda days/games, but I was watching on my phone at an Oktoberfest celebration in Sidney, NE, but they let me have the TV all to myself, pitcher after pitcher, they were all happy for me(but the Huskers won earlier lol) Still a fun night....let us know what you saw etc.....

Well, it was a warm fall evening, little wind, great for football. The parking lot area was a giant dustbowl.
Announced attendance was 33,000. Sometime in the 4th quarter most all of the CSU fans left so the stadium was close to empty at the end. The turnovers really changed the momentum + in the 2nd half there was a lot more pressure on the CSU quarterback. Looked like some of the play calls were new, probably saved especially for this game, like the flea flicker reverse. Brian Hill broke a lot tackles and had great second effort all night. I watched through binoculars his longest run and there were 3 guys at the same time that had him with arm tackles at the line of scrimmage and he broke all 3 and took off.

Wyoming continued to struggle on pass defense. Great special teams work, especially punting. It appeared the 2 Wyoming punts that landed near the goal line had spin on them such that they went straight up in the air or slightly backwards and were downed at the 1 yard line.

Was there and am sure glad I went! What a fun, fun, fun time. My little bro's first away game Border War was one he'll remember.

I thought we were going to get blasted after they marched down the field for two TDs. I was getting nervous. So proud of the Cowboys for coming through with a hugggge win! Go, Pokes!

Their fans are still classless for the most part. There was a guy in the second qtr that would flip me off in my face and say "fuck you" every time we'd do something good. Tried to ignore him, but then he started making some weird, explicit sexual gesture. Landerpoke tackled his ass and rubbed his head on the concrete before his buddies jumped on me. The little bitch just curled up in the fetal position. I'm sure that's typical CSU fan behavior. Good times.... I guess. I hate CSU all the more. So glad we beat those jerks!

It was a great game to be at. Still haven't seen the Pokes lose at Hughes in person.

We sat one section over from the WYO section, and got to sit next to Cooper Rothe's inlaws (effectively - he's dating their daughter) who were great people. No real connection to Wyoming otherwise that I know of, but they were wearing Wyoming gear and cheered just as loud as we did. Was interesting to hear a third-hand player's take on the staff and the school. Very positive overall.

Game was great, after the first quarter. When we went down 14-3 I turned to my wife and said "something better change soon or this one's over." Not long after that we got the fumble recovery and never looked back. Hill was outstanding, and I loved watching him literally run over CSEwe defenders a couple of times. Allen was good, and the defense was so much better. The team was physical and just refused to lose this game, and it was great to see. I think we're starting to turn the corner, but we've got to control the big plays, especially passing over the middle.

The CSEwe fans around us were decent for the most part. A couple of them were cheering when our players were down on the field, or to "hit him out of bounds anyway" and that kind of crap. But it's nothing I don't already expect from them. On the other side of us were a couple of older CSEwe alumni, who were pretty upset that the Wyo fans were so loud and "obnoxious." We were pretty tame overall, but it was funny to watch them get huffy with every cheer.

One other thing. It was amazing to see the team so excited to bring the boot over. Allen was super excited and ran over to our section without the boot before anyone else. Players were all jumping out of their skins, kissing the boot, etc. It was fun to watch. And then Gentry and Hill and a few others came up the the barrier and high fived everybody. A couple of kids were near us, and they both took off their gloves and tossed them to those kids. And then Hill came back and gave them his elbow pads. Those kids were over the moon, and will be Wyoming fans for life. That was awesome, and let me know that the players get it. I think that's an extension of the coaching staff understanding the need to win the hearts and minds, even of the diehards who brought their kids to the Border War at Hughes.

All in all, a great way to send off Hughes. Now to repeat in a couple of years in their new digs.

GO POKES!!

Game was great. We sat in the WYO section and had an awesome time. Outside of how great our play was, here were a few takeaways.

- The concession stand needs to make more salted pretzels. Screw unsalted.
- In the first quarter a csu fan came into the section to talk smack. Got into some peoples faces. We quickly kicked out. On his way up the stairs he continued to jaw, thus receiving a loogie right in the face.
- Their dance team really sucked
- They only played old old songs.
- In the 4th when it was clear we were going to win, some UW students went and took over some of the CSU student section. Cops immediately rushed in, but realized they couldn't do anything.
- In the last few minutes some FC cops showed up in front of the UW fan section dressed in full riot gear. Not sure what they were expecting, but it was comical.

I noticed this. Was that part of their "80s night" thing?

I'd've been the guy that walked up to one of them and asked if there was someone we could help them find or anything we could help them with. Then I would have made some sort of comment about the most unusual cleaning crew I'd ever seen...

I remember the night game in 1996, sitting up on the extra seats and the snowballs being lobbed in and I built one heck of an ice ball and drilled a poor girl in the face, the snow went from White to Red, but man oh man I remember that like it was yesterday....other than that I've been an angel the other 4x I've been there, lol

What a small world. I'm actually from Sidney and didn't make it out to the tent Saturday night for fear the game might not be on(and the fact that I drank my fair share Friday). Would've loved to go out and watch the game with another Cowboy fan!

I saw the group of UW students in their student section towards the end of the game and wondered if the police were going to give them any grief.

Overall lots of loud pokes fans where we were and just a sprinkling of sheep fans that all cleared out at the end of the 3rd.

My only complaint was that UW didn't bring the band down, having to hear sheep state's pathetic fight song while our guys went and got the boot was annoying.

I was in the end zone section closest to the student section. For the most part, csewe students seemed more interested in their cell phone, beer, feeding their faces - just about anything but the game. Many left at half time. To be honest, the most mellow crowd I've seen - has to be the chronic.

All I noticed watching on TV is that they seemed to play the game of thrones theme every......single.......third down
