I agree on the cop out. However, DC completely shuts off access to anyone that publishes a negative opinion of him.
On the other hand, if it is true that Dave Christensen 'shuts out' anyone who says or writes anything that is perceived as negative about him, the games, his players, or the program itself...this is a HUGE problem that makes him and any coach who employs such bully like tactics look small and petty.
This perception of DC bothers me more than anything that takes place on the field -- Wyoming football is not beyond reproach on any level, and if all DC or the Wyoming administration expect is flowery reporting and don't have any respect for critical thinking then I have a very hard time respecting such a mindset.
In addition, shame on any reporter who would adhere to this kind of ridiculous one way and or dictatorial kind of a relationship.
Christensen doesn't own and operate the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle nor does he exert any editorial control over the Casper Star-Tribune...or any other media outlet that I am aware of.
If this is true about Christensen, then perhaps the two most prominent print publications in the state should focus their time and editorials on shining the light on the browbeating meanderings of a football staff who apparently looks to eliminate anyone who dares to deviate from the outlined script as handed down from on high.
I love the University, the football program, the administration, and I support the head coach...I really hope what has been alluded to a few times on this board about this subject is erroneous and not legit.
