Sounds like Haldorson's leaving

That's probably all it is. Still, it seems like the coaches are confident they can get some quality in the spring period, or they could have just let Hank keep his scholarship on probation.

I'm curious as to why Hankerson got his scholarship yanked. This leads me to believe that Shyatt already has a couple of recruits in the bag. If he didn't, why wouldn't they just let Hank keep his scholarship for one more season?

I don't know truly, but my guess from just watching Shyatt and the type of team that he runs, i.e. - with rules, etc. if he let Hankerson keep his scholarship then what happens in other situations down the road? It could cause more problems plus from what Vorel said this was not Hankerson's first offense, so maybe the coaches hands were tied and Hankerson is actually lucky to be able to stay on the team. My respect just went way up for Hankerson that he is willing to do this and I think in the long run it will be a great lesson for him and he will appreciate his degree a great deal more from Wyoming after all that he went through to get it. I know that when I watch the young man play next season and I rise to cheer and clap for him I will do it with more gusto knowing what he has gone through to be on the floor. This is all way above my pay grade but this is my 2 cents.

Could violating team rules and his legal issues have played a role?

Tater is spot on here. Hankerson has earned a ton of respect from me with the way he's handling this. I hope to see great things from him this year!

I respect him for manning up and doing what he needs to do. That being said, he's a marginal player filling up a roster spot. At least he is cowboy ready.

lax, they just keep bouncing up and down, up and down...

Of Course they keep bouncing. Otherwise it's traveling (this is the basketball forum, you know). On the other hand, she could be called for double dribble. Or a technical for taunting the opponent.
