Sorry guys time to let bohl go

I know everyone is saying wait till his recruiting class is seniors, then what?
Years off awful football will make recruiting for the future zero.
The games aren't even competitive just blowouts after the whistle sounds.
Wyoming made North Dakota's other FCS team look like Michigan.

As a person that has both lived in North Dakota and Wyoming, I can tell you NDSU is a much better football program since bohl left. Bohl is the type of guy to sit on the ball and hope good breaks come. NDSU lost to a eastern washington team in the playoffs before the streak, just because they sat on the ball to much. They also generally let teams beat them or stay in games when they had no business in the game. Most of NDSU"s true blowouts were just turnover driven. The northern iowa team that NDSU beat this weekend, where NDSU had to play some offense, woulda beat bohls-sit-on-ball-hope for luck teams all the time.

The MWC is a high octane offense, and wyoming is running on diesel out here, Try to play this antiquated smashmouth old school football on a conference that will hang 50 on you is not the way to win a game.

To try to bully teams in your conference with smashmouth, when you are the little guy wont work. When bohl is here you will see much more beatings than close games. His mind isn't there for this conference. Its very easy to see.
Wyoming isn't just bad there are junior colleges that could beat them.
First off, we are not a good team this year, so you have the right to be upset and blow off some steam. But no, JC teams would not beat us, and no one has hung 50 on us (but we do have BSU coming up !).

Chip Kelly ain't walking through that door anytime soon. Get over the fire coach talk.

Bohl is dealing the hand he is dealt. This is going to take YEARS. Although I'm frustrated, I have to give him more time

Not looking for Chip Kelly. Just someone who understands that if you recruit FCS players, expect to look like an FCS team.
Are you saying DC recruited FCS players? Only a couple of Bohl's recruits are true sophomores, and they are pretty good. The rest are redshirt and true freshman.

The problem last night was turnovers. Brian Hill and Coffman didn't help the cause. One of those turnovers resulted in a huge letdown in which the D allowed Air Force to march down and score quick. I thought the D played relatively well against a run heavy Air Force. Other than allowing a receiver to get wide open for a long td, the db's played well too. Wingard is going....is already a stud. Granderson with some meat is going to be a player. Priester...caused a fumble, then gets his first pick. Offense had moments, but tried to rush inside way to often and turned the ball over way to much. Can't win when you have 4 turnovers. Hill is better than that, Coffman...not so sure. Hill still finished with over 100. I see an improving young team that needs to learn how to win.

Just my :twocents:

So your basic assertion is that Bohl lucked into the greatest dynasty run in the history of FCS. Kind if a silly assertion on the face of it. Impossible to luck into 3 straight titles, never done before on that level . Bohl may or may not succeed at Wyoming, but not for the reasons you are arguing.

Thank you! Someone actually can see through all this Nebraska tough bullshit. This power crap ain't ever going to work unless our O line looks like Ohio states. And guess what, that will never happen.keep on buying into the latest sales pitch by these North Dakota boys. Christensen was moving the ball during his tenure. Just didn't know how to stop an offense.

This "never can happen" defeatist talk is pretty ridiculous and extremely short sighted. Hope its only coming from armchair QBs, and not from decision makers. The oline is starting 2 freshman, 3 if you include Jackson over Borland. yet all this "never" BS. Scott Fuchs, Oline coach, has helped produce two Nfl linemen in the last 5 years, and that was at the FCS level.

The offense needs to adapt to what they have on the line. You can maintain the same scheme but throw in some wrinkles to pull the LB's and secondary out of the box to give hill a chance. Our defense kept us in the game longer than I expected but they can't do it all.

This type of point is much more rational than all this "Wyoming can never run pro style" nonsense. I was dissapointed that Vigen did a very poor job adjusting to the blitz yesterday. He stuck w one Rb in for protection and 3 wrs running normal routes. Cam needed safety valves or much better hot reads. One center screen worked well, but no RBs out in the flat, slants, and TEs were no factor again.

In all sincerity, I want names of possible coaches?

If we were winning, we'd be singing Bohl genius.

The cabinets were so bare when he got here, he was doomed before a down was snapped.

I'm not crowning Bohl as infallibl, but how much control does he have over fumbles and such?

He does have control over play calling, if he wanted to. If the darn Oline can't block the A gaps, then stop running every other play in the A gap. Shit with all that A gap running you'd think that we might catch the defense cheating up on that play and hit them with some more play action. Guess it's not cowboy tough not run on a stacked box.
+1 Stop running the A gaps. Period. We make good yardage running outside of the tackles.

there are all sorts of plays vigen could be using like bubble screens, TE slants, or even pitches to the outside to get the opposing defense to adapt and open the box. He chooses not to do any of that until late in the game when it's too late. It's like his whole scheme is to oversell the power run to open the field for passing at the end of the game.

I agree that there are some very concerning signs right now, but I disagree that they are an absolute indication of where things will end up.

Gotta see next year and most likely the following at minimum.

It doesn't matter who the coach is. This is institutional. You can't win in Laramie. Nick Saban couldn't win at Wyoming.

The Nick Saban could not win in Laramie, eh?
Forget it. SDFan goes to junior high games to meet girls. He's everything that's wrong with America...

Use 7220 to our advantage too, sooooo frustrating

Because that worked sooo well against Hawaii under DC a few years back, right?

Seriously, as bad as this loss was, there was progress. And I saw a Defense moving forward. The TO's were much needed for those guys in the backfield. We contained AFA very well until I saw Wacha go out with a concussion. He was containing the middle well, when he went out that was when AFA started busting big gains up the middle with Davern.
Running was strong. Maulhardt played well, other than his tipped ball int. Gentry played well, but you could tell he is still suffering with his ribs. Bailey makes a 41 yarder! Hill had a bad game. It happens. Sometimes your best guy has one of these. I do not blame Coffman for those INTs. Those passes were right where they needed to be. Hill slapping the ball with one hand was pretty lame. It didn't even look like he was trying to catch it, just knock it away... right into the defenders hands. How many handoffs does Hill take? 20-30 a game. Probably that or more at practice, spring ball, fall ball. What are the odds of him bobbling a handoff??? Baffling! And on a scoring drive too! Other than that, I would say Coffman needs needs to really learn to take the lead. His confidence hangs on by a thread. And when one thing bad happens then it becomes a domino effect.
It's sucks to lose, but these guys are getting better.

Do we need one of these threads after every loss?
I agree. What has changed since the last loss? Did anyone expect a different outcome against a decent Air Force team on the road?

Our guys need just a hint of success to get over this snake bite. They have the pieces, just need to put them together. There is no quit in these guys, just need to stop shooting themselves in the foot at the most inopportune times.
