I know everyone is saying wait till his recruiting class is seniors, then what?
Years off awful football will make recruiting for the future zero.
The games aren't even competitive just blowouts after the whistle sounds.
Wyoming made North Dakota's other FCS team look like Michigan.

As a person that has both lived in North Dakota and Wyoming, I can tell you NDSU is a much better football program since bohl left. Bohl is the type of guy to sit on the ball and hope good breaks come. NDSU lost to a eastern washington team in the playoffs before the streak, just because they sat on the ball to much. They also generally let teams beat them or stay in games when they had no business in the game. Most of NDSU"s true blowouts were just turnover driven. The northern iowa team that NDSU beat this weekend, where NDSU had to play some offense, woulda beat bohls-sit-on-ball-hope for luck teams all the time.

The MWC is a high octane offense, and wyoming is running on diesel out here, Try to play this antiquated smashmouth old school football on a conference that will hang 50 on you is not the way to win a game.

To try to bully teams in your conference with smashmouth, when you are the little guy wont work. When bohl is here you will see much more beatings than close games. His mind isn't there for this conference. Its very easy to see.
Wyoming isn't just bad there are junior colleges that could beat them.

It doesn't matter who the coach is. This is institutional. You can't win in Laramie. Nick Saban couldn't win at Wyoming.

The Nick Saban could not win in Laramie, eh?

If he brought his own guys in and played against the team we have out there now, he would most certainly win.

SDPF, I ask you this with not a hint of sarcasm, and I think it's interesting that you believe the problem to be, as you say in your own words; 'institutional.'

Now if this is true, I would assume that Wyoming cannot have the franchise on this sort of a situation. So for comparison's sake, and so I myself may consider your allegation more seriously, can you present to me any other CFB situations across the country (outside of Ivy League schools) where this institutional problem exists along parallel tracks...as you claim it does in Laramie?

Thank you.

Thank you! Someone actually can see through all this Nebraska tough bullshit. This power crap ain't ever going to work unless our O line looks like Ohio states. And guess what, that will never happen.keep on buying into the latest sales pitch by these North Dakota boys. Christensen was moving the ball during his tenure. Just didn't know how to stop an offense.

Let me see if I have this right. The only way we'll compete is to junk the smashmouth pro style offense and revert back to a Christensen based spread system? That's it?

Well it worked so well when DC was here...

Well, if you can't recruit players who can open running lanes for the offense, maybe the power running game isn't best suited for your players.

Or maybe if the play caller wasn't calling for run plays up the middle when the defense is loading up the middle with 8-9 guys, we may see something different.

I'll say this, if we are losing game beginning with next season in the same manner as we are this year, and if the mistakes are not cleaned up, and we're turning the ball over, and such, then at that point I will give serious consideration to some of those already looking to throw in the towel on Bohl at this point.

The only thing that kind of bothers me about him right now, is his exceptionally calm demeanor following some of these losses with the press after games. I'll acknowledge that maybe I'm being a bit selfish when I say that because I'm more of an emotionally extroverted person when it comes to these things, and maybe I want to see Bohl display a little bit more passion.

Either I have completely missed the boat on Bohl and have way overestimated his abilities as the leader of this program, or Bohl knows something we all don't know.

At this point I don't waver, I believe he's the guy, and I believe he will eventually get the job done.

Well you have more faith in this guy then a lot of folks. This ain't FCS football. You simply cannot pull a bunch of Power blocking offensive linemen that are nasty out of thin air. We have none on the roster. Not trying to be sarcastic but Laramie ain't a 4 star lineman destination. Play with what you can recruit and what is consistent. That is the spread. The great equalizer for playing against big ass defensive linemen and backers who are one yard off the line of scrimmage.

Chip Kelly ain't walking through that door anytime soon. Get over the fire coach talk.

Bohl is dealing the hand he is dealt. This is going to take YEARS. Although I'm frustrated, I have to give him more time

Not looking for Chip Kelly. Just someone who understands that if you recruit FCS players, expect to look like an FCS team.

In all sincerity, I want names of possible coaches?

If we were winning, we'd be singing Bohl genius.

The cabinets were so bare when he got here, he was doomed before a down was snapped.

I'm not crowning Bohl as infallibl, but how much control does he have over fumbles and such?

He does have control over play calling, if he wanted to. If the darn Oline can't block the A gaps, then stop running every other play in the A gap. Shit with all that A gap running you'd think that we might catch the defense cheating up on that play and hit them with some more play action. Guess it's not cowboy tough not run on a stacked box.

Bohl is defense, not offense.

The offense needs to adapt to what they have on the line. You can maintain the same scheme but throw in some wrinkles to pull the LB's and secondary out of the box to give hill a chance. Our defense kept us in the game longer than I expected but they can't do it all.
