Somebody Better Apologize To Sellers!

Athletes need 12 credit hours to compete. Sellers needed much less than that to graduate. So I guess he said, screw taking classes I don't need, I'm getting outa here.

You don't need to take 12 credits the last semester of your final year. I can't remember if you have to be at least part-time (6 credits) or just enrolled in at least 1, but NCAA rules lighten up for the last semester. That's why Matt Leinart was able to take ballroom dancing for his final semester at USC.

We are better off that he quit instead of trying to play out the season while not being into it. I have no clue why he quit. Maybe he hated the program. Maybe he was dead broke. Whatever the reason was, he did the right thing.

He could have done much, much, much worse. He could have played while he didn't want to play - and not played well. He could have tried to profit on throwing the games so the other teams win (be selfish and shoot the ball more - while intentionally missing, play bad defense, etc).

If he was happy, and everything lined up for him to enjoy playing, then thats one thing. But he flat out quit and we are much better off for it. Riding the fence can be cancerous to other players on the team.

He would have to actually get in the game to do those things......
