Our win stopped a 3 game losing streak to UNM.
The 3 points UNM got was the lowest in the series since 1960 when UW beat them 13-3 in Laarmie.
This game was NOT the biggest blowout win in the series...that honor goes to the 1988 squad that won, 55-7 in Laramie.
Had we not allowed the field goal, it woulda been the first shutout win over UNM since 1955, a 20-0 win in Albuquerque. (BTW, the last shutout loss to them was in 2008).
Also, had we shutout UNM, it woulda been the first time Wyoming shutout at least two opponents in the same season (the other was Gardner-Webb) since 1966! That year we beat Air Force in Colorado Springs in the season opener, 13-0, and later in the year, we beat Wichita State, 55-0, in Wichita, Kansas, enroute to a 10-1 season and a WAC Championship that ended with us beating Florida State in the Sun Bowl, 28-20.
