Some love in the national press

So, I found this rankings to be interesting. MWC has three teams including Wyoming in Dodd's top 25 on CBS Sports. Link is below. Now as I have said before the only rankings I care about are those at the end of the season and our standing in the MWC. Having positive national attention though is a good thing for the program though. Keep the wins coming and Wyoming has a perfect brand to be a much followed underdog program. That sells in the U.S. Things are looking good for the Pokes, enjoy it while it lasts.

Dodd Post Week 10 top 25

His ranking lose SOME of its luster when he says that Rypien is still the most productive QB in the league... Allen is the better QB in all facets of the game. I have never seen a QB accomplish so much with such a small sample of throws. It's insane. There was a moment in the USU game where he was averaging a TD every 4 throws... Think about that..... Rypien is good, he's not better than Allen

It's all about beating SDSU, winning the MWC Championship and having W Michigan slip up if those stars align it would be a coach if the year ballet for Bohl and a year to remember for us fans.

I'm being greedy but I'm enjoying the hell out of this ride.

Even BSU posters are saying Allen is the better QB.

My seats this season are in Section B, close to the visitors section. This saturday a USU fan approached me and asked what year Allen was. He was shocked to know this is his first real season and is a RS Soph. He told me he's the best QB he has ever seen and is going to TORMENT (his exact words) the MWC for the next few season. It was a cool moment for sure and its so awesome seeing our guys win over other fan bases.

There is no doubt that Hill is a monster and the best in the league, but our offense (and our success this season) is a direct result of having a QB who is worthy of wearing the uniform. The biggest difference between this season and last is Josh Allen.

The only thing I think Allen really needs to work on, is his touch on the deep passes. Either too much power, or too soft.

He is sort of a conundrum honestly. He has had some real big misses on deep throws this season, the biggest that comes to mind is that blown read in the AF game where the defender bit on the bubble screen and Gentry broke free. Gentry would still be running he was that wide open and Allen missed him.

Then Allen makes the throws like he did to Gentry in the corner in a dead sprint where not only did he get the ball to Gentry, but he put in a place Gentry and ONLY Gentry could come down with it. It was a 50 yard rope against his body with accuracy few in college can accomplish. Hell, there aren't many playing on sundays who would make that throw....

Consistency will come with age I believe, which is scary for anyone playing against Wyoming.

Agree, it looks like most of Dodd's knowledge about Wyoming is the coach. Chances are he hasn't watched much if any of our games. Because of Wyoming's typically balanced approach, Allen doesn't have the yards Rypien has and just looking at the stat line doesn't do Allen justice. That said, when I wouldn't be putting Wyo in my top 25 yet, I won't look a gift horse in the mouth so to speak ;)

Some of us could see it coming last year after he looked like the second coming of Drew Bledsoe in his two possessions vs EMU

the national press I'd like to have is Brian Hill being talked about Heisman but we all know that won't happen

Allen has the highest ESPN QBR in the MWC by far. Way higher than Rypien.

QBR is better than passer rating
