Sources: Colorado St. firing Norvell in 4th season
Colorado State is firing coach Jay Norvell, who had an overall record of 18-26 with the Rams, midway through his fourth season, sources confirmed to ESPN.
It's been rumored for a few weeks now. I'll give it to csewe. They don't f-around. Norvell won 8 games last year. If Sawvel did that, Burman would have his knee pads on.

CSU saves money by firing Norvell early. We pay Sawvel the same whether we fire him now or he coaches 2 more years. Thanks Burman.
Personally, I think the worst thing we could do is to fire Sawvel now before a new President is in place. That would allow Burman to further set the program back with another bad coaching hire and contract.

Firing Sawvel now is the right move. Make Bohl Jr. the interim HC and see if he might be the guy. His defense is the lone bright spot this year. Burman may never leave or be forced out. Where does that leave us?

Junior is too young. He's done better this year at running the D. Running a program is a different beast. Leave him at DC in case next coach wants to retain him.
We need 3 mill/ year. 2 mill for new coach and 1 mill for PBJ buyout.

I can see some sense in that. Not sure Aaron Bohl is ready for a HC shot but what do we have to lose.

I don't know man. PBJ ran the WYO D to the 37th ranked D in the country. The next year, Junior ran it to the mid-90s.
Without knowing the nuts and bolts, it's entirely possible PBJ took a little bigger role in the D this season. I think the guy is not hc material and was not a merit hire BUT I do think he's a better DC than Junior and would guess he took a little rein from Junior which is why we're seeing improvement.
The whole nepotistic clown show needs to be washed away ASAP. Since the season is pretty well a bust, I'd be ok with JJ and move Bouknight to OC.
