So...who recruits Texas for the Cowboys?

A 3 star (247) freshmen from Littleton who Wyoming recruited but didn’t offer is currently leading South Dakota with a 176 rating 24 TD’s and 6 INT’s.

Kentucky offered as did Eastern Kentucky and South Dakota.

I know we recruit Colorado.

Not saying the Wyoming record would be any different at this point but between the Bohl staff and the start of the current staff there was never a serious commitment to the pursuit of a stud passing able QB. The focus has been run first pass as an afterthought.

A 4-Star athlete who wants to play QB but the Puke-4 schools all said no.... so he goes to Delaware. He sounds like just the QB we need. Were we aware of the situation and did we even give him a look...let alone an offer?

Can’t read NY Times because of paywall.

However, Delaware is FBS. Some folks might not be aware of that. They also went to and won a bowl game last year while Wyoming was watching bowl season from the couch with their 4-8 record. As a recruit (money being a relative non-factor), which is more likely to be the choice?

And a HS 4 star QB is probably only coming to Wyoming to prove themselves with the hopes of moving ‘up’ to be realistic. I don’t mind the strategy of bringing in proven FCS QBs where Wyoming is probably the last stop.

I’m not sure about that Kaden Anderson showed no serious running threat (which actually was a bit of a limitation on his ability to succeed in our offense). We know Kaden Anderson can play in an offense suited for him and he is absolutely demonstrating that at Tarleton.

Tyler Hughes = Sean Chambers. You can win games with that skill set with the right offensive gameplan. I’m becoming more impressed with the offensive gameplan in the last few weeks to adapt to the strengths we do have.

PS - Kaden Anderson and Tarleton are 8-0 and he is setting all kinds of Tarleton passing records. In those 8 games, he has 27 total touchdowns and only 2 INT. Could be in conversation for FCS player of year awards.

Delaware is also highly committed to the development of the offense. The pressure on Sawful to upgrade the offense has been tremendous and it has resulted in an extra 3 point increase so far in a much weaker MWC.

CSU transformed the offense with one recruiting class and I would argue their schedule has been a little tougher than Wyoming’s.

Anderson was a serious run threat at South Lake until his knee injury. I do believe he was the best QB recruited by Bohl since Allen and now he is showing what he can do at Tarlington surrounded by players who can play offense.

While excited to be winning and at 5-3 (4-1) I’m cautious about our offense as we have some stronger teams remaining besides UTEP. This is the time to find out if we are legit contenders or pretenders benefiting from a weak schedule.

Good points.

The thing with a running QB that can extend drives, you can limit possessions of opposing teams. This is the reason Air Force has the routine success that they have over the years. So if we keep moving the ball and Hughes continues to extend drives with his legs, you theoretically keep the game close and give us a shot.

PS - I actually see UNLV and New Mexico as middle of the pack MWC teams in past years. In the diluted conference, they are top teams now but they don’t pose near the challenge of the top MWC teams in the past IMO.

CSU transformed their offense but sacrificed their defense. The ‘ol Dave Christensen approach. CSU sucks and is not a serious team. It’s embarrassing we didn’t move the ball on them to begin the season. Probably a different looking game today.

Good grief. We suck at using what we have been dealt.

I will say that he is probably at the right level, FCS. Also, they are a top FCS team with every advantage and it’s easy to succeed in a situation like that when your players are just better than the other team’s. I bet he would be average at another FBS school
