So long you miserable bastards [SLC Trib]

Probably because they won and were the biggest tv market for the majority of the MWC's existence....that's what happens when you own all of the tv sets. It's all about the benjamins...and ps...I freakin hate Craig Thompson and not pushing for an ESPN deal

In the article the part about so much hate, isn't hate contradictory to Christianity from a state that
cornered the market on Christianity?

I'm going to go ahead and say that was a joke...only because the article makes no mention of hate for anyone other than a television channel. If you were being serious then you really need to think about what you just posted.

Okay, well make your judgements upon one journalist who was preaching "hate" against the quality of television that the Mountain produces(something I'm sure we are ALL guilty of after watching the Mountain broadcast basketball). Seems like a good reason to bring up religion right? Sports isn't a domain that religion should be involved in, and I feel bad to see people stoop low enough to take shots at another religion that they probably don't understand because they can't find a way to actually take a shot at the teams themselves.

PS- Find another forum to post your religion comments, I personally prefer to speak about sports in this one!

On the other hand...I'm only sad to see the two teams leave because they were my chance to see the Pokes play a little more often every year and taunt some good ol BYU fans in their own house! Good luck as an indy and have fun looking good against New Mexico State and losing to Texas!

@SLC poke

While I agree with you for the most part, SLC is a whole different planet and, after living there for 4 years, I can't say Landiego's comments are that far out of line. Just my .02

What your opinion of the religions that inhabit the state of Utah have no play on athletics, and really don't matter at all in this forum. So in truth, his comments are out of line because there's no place for comments about different faiths, regardless of what faith, in these message boards. Also, I live in SLC and find that the people here are pretty nice and are a lot more diverse than people who enjoy making fun of the state would like to admit. Granted there are the those individuals who give the whole a bad name, and you have to take it with a grain of salt. Now I am done commenting on religion based posts and hope we can keep it about sports, which is what these message boards are for.

How about we just drop the religious conversation. All it does is start pissing contests. No one ever wins, so just stop adding fuel to the fire.

Very creative, I didn't know that the length of membership on a message board had ANYTHING to do with with ANYTHING. OH yah..it really doesn't. I'm glad you have the ability to do a small amount of research and see I've been on this board for 3 days, congrats to you. You have your opinion and I think that the moderators will agree that this isn't the place for religous conversation nor opinions. PS- Nice 3rd grade argument, "you're not the boss of me, so you can get bent"? awesome

Religion in Utah does have a major effect on athletics and the athletic budget of a certain school that most Wyoming fans hate with a passion. The reality is that the Mormon religion and their tithing practices directly fund BYU and their athletic budget. I am not saying all donations to the LDS church go to athletics, but certainly a portion/percentage of these funds do.
Does this mean one should make fun of the LDS/Mormon religion because it funds BYU? In my opinion religion is fair game as long as it is in the context of pissing off BYU fans and teams.

Thats just my opinion though and everyone is entitled to their own.

We should probably refrain from attacking religions on this here forum. There are a good number of Mormons on this board, all good people, so let's not attack their religion. However, BYU is open season, so enjoy. I don't want to censor anyone, but let's keep it respectful.

I am all game for making fun of BYU!! I have to go to Provo this weekend and I feel like I've crossed enemy lines every time I am there.....but I make sure to wear a Wyo Cowboys hoodie every time!! Don't get me wrong, I don't want a censorship, but I want people to be respectful....and I think certain Wyoming fans who have recently posted would be quite surprised at the number of LDS Cowboys fans. I'm all for a little harmless poke, but there's no reason to start bashing someones faith....I don't see anyone bashing TCU, SMU, Notre Dame, Gonzaga etc.... :twocents:
