So...if it is 2017...and you pre purchased MWC hoops tickets (and travel)...

How are you feeling right now?

This is a major issue...and although Mr. Knowitall brought some recent light to the subject, it really appears there is very little dialogue from anyone, anywhere. Most importantly from the MW offices in Colorado Springs.

Although I believe the MWC really f'd this up, I would mostly be frustrated with my own program. All you will need is to finish 8th out of 11. If we can't do that (which it looks like we will be in the bottom 3 of the MWC for the 5th time in 9 years), then whether or not you get an opportunity for one or two more games in LV should be the least of your concerns.

I think the conference is going to realize how big of a mistake it was when their ticket sales fall through the floor. While I doubt you get a lot of Air Force or San Jose States fans this year, you'll get zero next year because they won't know if their team will go. I also suspect that presale of Wyoming tickets will be low to start due to the results of this season. If Craig isn't gone before then, he'll realize all the money they're losing and change his mind. I give this format 2 years max before it's changed.

Imagine if both Wyoming and New Mexico didn't make it to the tourney. Not a great chance of that I realize, but in that case, ticket sales would be non-existent and the conference would take a pretty big financial hit.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out now that they're meeting again.

GO POKES!

Especially when there's a log jam of teams and the difference between 10th and 5th is last two games of the season.

This exactly. Most years are gonna be somewhat like this. I am not going to buy tickets to the tournament early unless we start off OOC great and start conference on fire and I believe we will win the regular season. If we are in the middle of the pack I have no idea if we will end up 4th or 10th until a week or two out and I am not going to buy a ticket the week of the tourney so I guess going I'm not going to be going to vegas for the tournament very often anymore.

I definitely won't be going next year to try to show the conference this is a bad idea.

Would love (not really though) if WYO, UNLV, and NM finished 9, 10, 11 next year. You would be able to hear a mouse fart in the T&M.

think if Wyo is a 9,10 or 11, those hotel vendors, liquor dealers and overall LV will be saying man this time last year and 2 years ago, our March was up quite a bit, what happened, I'll tell ya Wyoming was not allowed to come to Sin City, man that's one hell of a hit to our economy!!

Even better would be SDSU, UNM, and UNLV finishing 9-11 and Wyoming winning a tiebreaker for the 8 seed on the last day of the season, too late for fans to plan/afford a trip to Vegas. Then the only 4 fan bases that show up would be at home. You would hear a fly fart in the T&M in that scenario

If Utah State would've held on to beat Fresno on Saturday, and only 8 teams advanced to the tournament, the conference POY wouldn't be invited to participate in the conference tournament. Absurd.

I've thought about this and I don't really have a problem with it. If you can't finish in the top eight in this conference (especially in years it's very weak, like this year) than you don't deserve to be in the tournament. Do better. And I say this knowing full well it's going to cost Wyoming a shot at the NCAA tournament many years, most likely starting with next year.
