WTF?
Wife and I miss a week. Head down for the game on Saturday. Nothing posted on FB or the Warriors site about no game. Get there at 6:15 and the lot looks pretty empty. The guy up front says its done and doesn't elaborate.
So what the hell? :tickedoff:
I did get to see Hangover Part 3 out of the deal at least

Team has folded. (Which most of us found out about through the newspaper article.) I should've put something up on the facebook page and website when the owner told me that Chicago wasn't coming down. My bad.

I think that indoor football will be a good thing for Cheyenne down the road, but they need a facility that will allow them to play the game correctly. Life for Corn Poke was hell in that building, as it was for every kicker that came in. There's still a small chance that we'll play the championship game, but I'm not counting on it.

It's unfortunate that I probably played my last football of my career and didn't even know it. The season was pretty much doomed when the majority owner passed away before the season began. I credit Alton and Misty Walker for taking the Warriors as far as they could but the money simply wasn't there. There were multiple factors to the financial problems but I certainly never played for the money. It barely covered my gas driving to Cheyenne and back; Especially now living in Pinedale. As was mentioned before, the facility was sub-par for an indoor football team. A city like Cheyenne deserves a better facility if Casper can have one.

I'm happy to have had the opportunity to play in my home state. The worst part is I'm in the best shape of my life and my distance is better than it ever has been but I have no team to play for. I doubt the Calvary are back next year either. This is nothing new in professional indoor football teams come and go quite frequently.

WTF are you doing in Pinedale??
I was offered a job handling the accounting and operations for Wolf Auto Group in Pinedale. Plus it's a beautiful area and some of the best fishing in the state!

If the Cavalry are back will you try out?
For sure.

Been wanting to hit the Green River up there for years. Do you fly fish?

I'm sure you have a pretty cool job with the Wolf Auto Group and fishin' and all that, but if you're in the best shape of your life and your distance is great etc., have you thought about giving the NFL or even the CFL a shot? They have try-outs and I hear the pay's pretty good. Shit, a girl just tried out recently*.

That point in my life is past. I'm 31 and no NFL would even look my way unless I had previous NFL experience. I was just happy to get an NFL tryout at one point in my career. CFL or Europe would be a possibility but I just don't want to travel like that anymore. These days I just want to play "locally" That way I can keep my full time job and be with my family. Our 5 month old is a handful. My wife wasn't too happy about me playing this season. If Jackson Hole ever gets a team I will eagerly tryout for them

As for now, I will enjoy still going out and kicking some footballs and helping out Pinedale high school as well as youth football. So I'll still get my football fix. Also coming soon is BlakeCobleKicking.com where I will be offering individual lessons and I'm hoping to get some annual kicking camps started in a few cities around Wyoming.

Well that is really a shitty deal. The wife and I did our damnedest to cheer you on all season even with the roof being such as it was.
I guess the only thing left to do is for me to become rich and build a stadium. Though I would put it in Wheatland and I don't know what kind of money that would make lol.
But anyone who has never watched Arena style football is missing out. Before Cheyenne we used to go to the Cavs games. Nothing more entertaining than seeing your team score 100 points in football haha

Farmers usually become millionaires, right? :)

A lot of them do! ...if they own mineral interests under their land and are in certain areas

Of al the "rich" people I know, plenty of them have farmer backgrounds, though. When it comes to work ethic, there isn't much that beats your average farmer. Give them an opportunity where they can make a bunch of money from working hard, and they will likely make that bunch of money.

Also, big bummer about the team :(
