Smith snubbed on O'Brien watch list

Carr, Fales, Keaton, and Fajardo all made the list, but Brett did not. If this doesn't give him a huge chip on his shoulder this season I don't know what will.

Its BS that fajardo and and maybe keeton on over Smith but oh well doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Prove it on the field.

I hope he takes it as a slight. The defenses he's facing should be very afraid, because now he's got even more to prove.

Given that the team finished 4-8 last year it's not hard to see why he wasn't on the list.
I thought the Davey O'Brien was an award for the best QB, not team (just kidding with ya). IMO, Brett deserved to be on the list considering.

Well then Fajardo better not be on next years list, cause his team will be lucky to go 4-8.

Fajardo took 2nd place at the Manning camp and has good numbers so he deserves to be on the list.

Brett should be on the list as well. Brett can be added to the list mid season if he is having a good year. So no reason for anyone to get upset as he could still get added and win the award if he is playing well enough.

Brett would have been a great old school Raider, because the extra snarl from not being named is just bad news for the opposition. Although we miss him back home, being in Wyoming plays right into one of his strengths: The us against the world mentality. It's going to be an exciting season!

Brett only played in 10 games, yet had better numbers than a majority of the QBs on that list. Garbage.

It's amazing how little respect non-BCS players/teams get.
Talking with OS fans on the Beaver board I am on a lot, I have realized how little respect there really is. We all know that non-AQ teams get shafted and aren't respected. But I have never realized how bad it really is.
It's like it is NFL vs College, or D1 vs Juco, or Texas Varsity High Schools vs. Middle School football. You get my point.

A MWC QB putting up 35 TDs is like a Pac12 QB putting up 10. They just think that if you aren't Pac12, Big12, Big10, ACC, or SEC you don't deserve the title of D1.
Forget players like Ben Rothlesberger, Alex Smith, Colin Capernick, Tony Romo, and Andy Dalton. It pisses me off actually.

Manziel wasnt picked by one person to be a contender for heisman. The talking head media hacks just like to hear themselves talk and pontificate. These watch lists dont mean shi. About makes me emotional like a young school girl, but we have something special in Smitty. Sit back and enjoy this ride. He has put in work like no one I have seen at UW at QB. This chip on his shoulder talk and such is total hogwash. When he plays with a chip on his shoulder, he plays wreckless. Let Smith play his game, and when the wins stack up, he will be noticed.

He is invested and committed to UW. I am counting down the hours to roadtrip across I80 to watch him play. Worth every penny. Enjoy the ride fellas. We only have two years left.

Good point. Should be very exciting to watch him play.
Whether Wyo wins or not, watching Brett Smith play will be special.

I'd rather have him off any lists, as he plays better under the radar!! Plus if he truly does have a great season but not on any lists, there won't be as many fears for him leaving after this year to test the NFL waters. We're truly gonna see how good DC is as an Offensive guru.
