SL Trib reporting that SJSU/USU done deal to MW

Utah State has potential going forward in football too. They we're pretty solid last year.
 
Gets us back into Utah, as well as another easy drive for Poke fans that are looking to travel to away games. And SJSU gets us into the Bay Area, if nothing else we have more access to the recruiting there with this.

Contrary to what wyokie believes, SJSU does actually have a lot of potential in sports just based on location. Unfortunately, they really just don't give a shit. There's practically no fan base at all. The tools and opportunity are there for the Spartans, but I'm not sure they'll ever really try. They will fill the doormat role in football.

man, i think they could squeak out 2 wins in a year and keep UNM in the cellar. Hell, sounds like CSU could be duking it out with UNM.
 
More from CBS Sports.. adding SJSU was necessary, as we needed another baseball team (and men's CC) to remain a FBS conference.

And I hate baseball 'cos the pros don't have cheerleaders!
 
Why do you need a cheerleader for baseball? I have a hard time figuring out their purpose in football.

Also of note, Texas State appears to be headed to the Sun Belt. Idaho... welcome back to the Big Sky!

The Vandals have too much pride to give in easily to the Big Sky.....most of their fans prefer independence. Eventually, they're going to have to come back to reality and realize no FBS conference wants them. Its a harsh truth, but they truly belong in the Big Sky. Never should have jumped to the FBS in the first place.
 
Idaho better not think they are so much better than the Big Sky and wait too long. Wouldn't it be funny if the NMSU president called up the Big Sky commish and and was accepted as the 12th football member of the BSC and Idaho then didnt have the WAC, MWC, Sun Belt or Big Sky to join?

Heck Doug Fullerton might have two schools lobbying for membership in his conference by the end of the week?

The ripples of conference realignment destroy an entire conference and may relegate some schools to FCS. I sure hope the Pac-12 is enjoying Utah and Colorado.

Remember this quote in 2 years when the MWC is in those same shoes and Wyoming is the Idaho looking for a home. I hate to say it but no one wants Wyoming no revenue, no population and no attendance. If the MWC collapses were in trouble.

I'm a bit worried about these bigger conferences stripping the MWC of it's teams in the next few seasons.
