Single Transfer Football Window

Not sure how I missed this news yesterday or we could have discussed on the pod. Football is moving to a single transfer portal window, Jan 2-11 (Subject to change in Oct meeting). That should help players like Meyer and Pregneon getting poached last day of spring practice. I believe the portal window will open for 30 days if the coach is fired. Something VT and UCLA are dealing with now as they fired their HCs 3 games into the 2025 season.

I suspect this new transfer rule, like seemingly everything else, will be challenged in the courts.

The courts have been very kind to the athletes so far, so I can only surmise that pattern would continue and they would likely strike this down. Guess we will find out.

Ryan Day hates it already so I hope they approve it based on that alone
