I think Jeremy meant retirement as being his next challenge.

I could be wrong but I don't think the "next challenge" are in the form of another job but in the form of retirement.

Is retirement challenging?

Word is that he probably won't be staying in Laramie as he has family on East coast, but that he may become more involved in radio/television work.

Shyatt won't comment on who's taking over, but keep alluding to the current staff staying in place and that "Tom will speak about that in an hour"

Really odd press conference. There is more to this story. "Nobody can win here."

He was saying that not one person can win here and he meant you need everyone working together to win here.

Maybe that was a jab at the athletic department or the funding .

He didn't mean it in the sense that no one can ever win here no matter what.

That is how I took it anyways.

He was saying that to prove his point and his point was, not one person can win here but you need the entire staff to work together to win here.

Didn't seem odd to me. It seemed nice...and touching. A guy who decided he needed out of his profession, even though it tears him up, and chose the time to do it. A good man.

I understand that is what he meant. I just think there is more to this story. There is strife with him and someone else. Either the president, the state funding, or someone within the athletic department.

Yeah there was a lot of "off comments" I thought... but I think he kind of rambled and didn't finish that thought they way he could've. I don't think he was taking a jab, the opposite, I think he was saying it takes a total commitment from the state and within the athletic department which is what they had.

Do you think that new President had anything to do with this?

My personal belief is that the strife is with the conference and he got tired of the politics of the MWC and is heading to the NBA where he only has to deal with primadona athletes.

I agree. It was a comment that we had an entire staff and all the players working together toward a goal and we won the MWC tourney. ANd that no one person can win anywhere. I don't read anything into that where it sounds like strife. If there was then he wouldn't be trying hard to keep his staff here or staying on as a consultant for 3 months.

I didn't care for that comment either.....but in clarification, from the radio show's take, it take a team to win here, not just a coach, I kinda get that, but there was talk he waiting til Josh graduated, guess he really contemplated this last year too.
