How's your guys' O-line playing? Are they big, small and athletic? You run the pistol correct?
our oline is very young and one of our weaknesses. That has been a big cause of our offensive struggles, which is another reason we desperately need a mobile QB. We have alot of potential there. They are much better than last year, but I think they are going to need another year to develop.

bokobobcat,

Thank you for your perspective on your team. I don't think it is going to be an easy game for Wyoming at all as some others here do. Wyoming will have to execute every time they have the ball. Your defense will no doubt be better than both Idaho and N. Colorado who we played. I think the other factor here is that this will be Wyoming's 2nd straight road game and last weeks game was a revenge game of sorts for Wyoming and no matter what any player on our team says about being focused on the opponent there can sometimes be a little bit of a let down in the following game.

I think this game will be a lot closer than what many here are expecting and Wyoming will have to play good to win. I will be happy if we win by a point. Any road win is good for Wyoming.

Good luck to the Bobcats this year except for this week. Be great if you guys can make it to a bowl game. :thumb:

I believe that where you can hurt us the most is in the passing game. Our rush defense has been lock down, but smith might be able to pick us apart in the middle of the field while we're blitzing.

I think we have done a great job forcing mistakes. Our opponents have a combined 10 turnovers in 3 games. That's why I said I believed Smith's success will depend entirely on his ability to handle the relentless pressure. If you have receivers or RBs with butterfingers that could be an issue too.

thanks seattle. You guys have been doing fantastic and we know it. I'm alot less confident in our ability to compete in this game than I was before the start of the year. Hopefully it will be a good game.

Good luck to you too, and safe travels.

I'm telling you...Smith evades sacks. Sure you will get him a time or two. But you will also get burned when you come at him.
And get out of here with that Orakpo shit. Thug loser couldn't do anything against Wyoming in the past but gauge Brett's eyes.

Again, Texas Tech doesn't have the offense Wyoming has. Our WRs, RBs, and our O-Line are all very good. And our QB is great.

Comparing the Texas State defense to Nebraska's is funny. Prarie View vs. UCLA.

You guys have a decent program for being newly FCS but damn, you are not at this years Wyo teams level.
And it will show Saturday night. 45-10

You're entitled to your opinion.

I dont think that gauging what Orakpo was able to do 2 years ago as a freshman is a logical reason to doubt his abilities as a junior today.

At anyrate, we have only given up 4 TDs all year and only 3 to our D. Considering that, I believe it is a stretch to think Wyoming's offense will score 6 TDs in this game. Mind you, that is 3 more than #24 Texas Tech did and 4TDs better than their offense.

I'd encourage you to ask Texas Tech fans if our defense is for real, but judging by how much better you believe you are than Tech that might be a waste. Texas Tech fans claimed they were going to put 50-60 on us too. I know we aren't as presitigious as other teams you've heard of, Every team we faced this year and last said the same thing, but in 15 games as FBS we have only been beaten twice by the margins you are predicting. both last year

I can sense your disrespect though.. It is dripping. so I'm not gonna argue with you. I can only hope your team will overlook us like you are.

There is a sense of disrespect in your posts as well. It goes both ways. Good luck this weekend.

Also, I noticed TTech put up over 550 yards on you guys. Not a bit of disrespect in this....just the truth.

The team isn't overlooking you guys.
You guys have beaten Southern Mississippi and Prarie View A&M. And got rocked by Tech.
You aren't anywhere close to the hardest team we are playing this season.
Tech played 2 freshman QBs. You think Wyo is going to do the same thing? Or do you think we are going to start Brett Smith?
Smith will hands down be the best player on the field saturday night, and no one on the TSU defense is close to him. Especially if Orakpo is the leader of the team.

LOL...Orakpo may be close to him if he is still on the "juice."

We didnt get rocked by tech. The game was much closer than the final score. We had chances to win too. That is why tech fans were so mad.

I certainly wasnt trying to be disrespectful. I definitely didnt resort to cursing and name calling. I certainly havent been deragatory about Wyoming, nor have I downplayed their achievements.

My comment you bolded was just to point out that he (brewpoke) is not the first fan to roll their eyes when bobcat supporters try and say that we arent going to get blown out.

I'm not sure how that can be construed as disrespectful. If I came across that way, I'm sorry.

Im going to go now before I wear out my welcome. If any of you are traveling to San Marcos, be safe. Also, be sure to stop by the taproom for a beer and burger. You wont regret it.

Cheers!

Do I think Wyoming's O will put up 40 plus on us? No. Texas Tech couldn't do that and they were in front of a record breaking 60,000 fan home crowd.

I think the key difference here is Wyoming's QB, he's a veteran guy, where Baker Mayfield and Webb are both freshmen and our D definitely made them look like FRs. Smith will make smarter decisions with the ball, but I'm confident the Texas State D will test Smith's ability to pass under heavy pressure. If he trys to run over our linebackers, they will test his ability to take brutal hits.

If smith can handle that, he will get plenty of yardage through the air, our pass coverage is still a work in progress.
Funny...almost beat Nebraska with 600 yards of offense in front of a record crowd of over 90000

I think it's perfectly fair to compare how a two year younger freshman orakpo played against a two year younger freshman smith

Come back anytime...sure some folks here are passionate but you'll find that we do hold a level of respect for folks that are willing to leave their homer boards and come around for some good old fashioned discourse

Let's put things in perspective concerning this vaunted Texas St. Defense. Southern Miss put up 400 yds of offense (377 in the air). Southern Miss also turned over the ball 6! times. Texas Tech puts up 552 yds of offense (434 in the air) and turned it over 3 times (all by interception).

In contrast, Brett Smith is averaging 329 yds a game through the air and the Offensive line is averaging less than 2 sacks a game on Brett. Wyoming also averages less than 2 give-a-ways a game. Brett has thrown a TD to 5 different receivers so far this year. Wyoming is also averaging over 200 yds a game rushing with 4 different guys scoring on the run.

I like hearing respectful game break downs from Texas St. fans. You guys are alright in my book, and thanks for posting.

lol there are two "should we be worried/trap game" threads about TSU with over 80+ posts. No disrespect to TSU....they are an up-and-coming program...but UW should wipe the floor with them Saturday.

This!

However, as a lifelong Wyoming fan I don't feel it is appropriate to be cocky.
