Neither player will return to the Pokes next season.

Apparently Tooley has also left. AND.. Matt Rahl moves to OLB coach, Mike Fanoga has taken a different job within UW.

WOW :o that is a huge blow, you wonder if the staff will be actively going after a kicker now and if that is why they brought in so many DB/LB types of players with this years class.

Fuck. That is going to hurt. At least Austin McCoy can do PTAs and Schober can do kickoffs. But FGs are going to be questionable.

Shamwow...left because of a girl? Third time is a charm huh Shamwow? A girl though, WTF!!?? Watts was always in trouble, and had some issues conforming to the rules...not hard to believe that he won't return...and Tooley is football's version of Afam...probably would never be the same as he was his freshman year. Wishing you all the best anyway.

Moving along now...

Where are you getting the info that Gary is leaving because of a girl???

I think a kicker will be hard to replace but its not exactly like he was doing a full job of kicking duties (schober kicks off). I liked Gary but he can probably be replaced as well ( we bring in 5 db in this class already, some might switch to lb). Maybe our new starting safeties can play the pass instead of being completely inept. I bet Tashaun plays some free safety this year as well.

Tough losses, but all replaceable. Hopefully the staff knows of a kicker. Gary didn't play after returning from a funeral.....Ruff looked good against CSU. It seems like we might have some depth at DB...but losing Gary is not the best case scenerio.

I hate losing players, but it happens to all programs all the time.

I guess that means we know what position Darren White will end up playing ( he is listed as athlete currently). I was hoping he would play wr but little doubt he will be a safety now.

I was thinking McElveen. But, White is another good prospect. Same with the JC guy Anderson.

gary has started nearly 25 games in 2 seasons, thats a huge blow to our squad, muhammad would be a good safety but i like Ruff and the juco anderson but i loved Gary, watts leaving hurts and tooley is no surprise what a pansy

Not sure if DC has looked to the East about 45 miles but Josh Borm from Central would be a great recruit. He kicked a 56 yard field goal this past season. Think it was a school record but not sure on that. He can kick consistently and is a good all around athlete.
A good prospect IMHO.

Simple solution...move Muhammad back to strong safety. That's his natural position. The dude had no business being at linebacker and won't cut it at running back either. That guy is an all-conference player at strong safety. Why he was moved out of that position in the first place has always boggled my mind.

Look for Ruff to get the nod at free safety. He's going to surprise a lot of people this year, including most of our fanbase. That dude has a knack for making big plays.

I'm a bit perplexed by all the love for Anderson, the JC safety. Yeah, he's a big hitter, but if you thought Prosinski was prone to bite on play action...then you aren't going to like Mr. Anderson very much. He had the speed to recover after many of his mistakes in the JC ranks, but you can trust that won't be nearly as easy in the MWC. Anderson doesn't strike me as much more than a strong special teams contributor.

One last thing...get Kongo some fucking caries at RB. That dude will rip up opposing defenses.

Muhammad would fit at strong safety. I still think he will be a good rb, he is big and fast, I guess time will tell ( I bet Ghalil puts up decent numbers at rb).

One problem here... He as to stay FUCKING healthy! He is not ready for big time college ball yet, should have redshirted him. I am liking AA as a homrun hitter and Gahli to get the tough yards

yeesh, id rather have no news than info like this. we would be better off with them as backups at least. losing gary really hurts, a 2 yr starter with 2 years left....wow.

I am not sure if it can be worded this go-round as "quit because of a girl"...but maybe not invited to return to the program because he "quit because of a girl" twice (yes 2 times) before.

What would have been a huge blow would have been how the team felt if he was "allowed back".

mcpeach wanna explain

OK...

Shammy was pussywhipped. He quit the team one day, and was back 2 days later asking to return. And was allowed, and it never was reported to the press / media.

Shammy stayed pussywhipped. He quit the team again, and was back a little longer than 2 days later, asking to return. (Week 10 of last year...when he didn't play the last 2 games). This is where most of us fans get foggy...about the whole family funeral thing. Yes, he did lose a very very distant family member...but his pussywhippedness was the real reason he left the team (again).

So...when asked if he could return...what should a coach do...allow him (after he has quit twice because of being pussywhipped), or tell him to hit the road? Not sure Shammy could have ever gained back the respect of his teammates after those events...
