Tommy Bowden would be a welcome addition to our program as far as I am concerned. He was making much more at Clemson than we could offer him, but he will probably have to take a substantial pay cut if he wants to be a head coach again next year. I think if Wyoming would offer him 1 million a year, he would entertain the idea. Of course to actually get him here, it would take a few other things to fall into place besides offering him a large chunck of cash. I actually expected to see their offense struggle a bit this year. If you look at Clemson's recruting classes over the past 3-4 years, they were ranked in the teens overall. However, most of their highly touted signees were on the defensive side of the ball (with the exception of CJ Spiller and a few others). Most glaringly evident was the lack of highly ranked offensive linemen signed in the past 3-4 years. However, the 2008 class was loaded with offensive talent and Clemson was signing some very good offensive talent so far this year (this might change due to the fact that there is a coaching change going on). Look for Clemson's offense to improve mightly in the next 2-3 years. Many will say it is the new coach, but it won't be. The table has been set in the last years recrutiing class for a better offense. Bowden won't be able to recruit the same caliber athletes that he did at Clemson here to Wyoming, but our recruiting will be vastly improved. This will be enough to compete for a conferenc crown in a few seasons. Bowden isn't one to stick around after turning a smaller program around, but i don't care. I just want to win.
