Semi-OT: UNM struggling against TCU.

That is absolutely on-topic. MWC race is a big deal.

This also means that I doubt that we can catch TCU. Therefore, I expect that we will finish 6th and will play the 3rd place team. That should be the most winnable game against one of the "Big 3" this season.

That could be anyone one of the three.....UNLV winning @CSU is far from a given, as is San Diego State winning @Boise or @TCU. New Mexico should win out with AFA and BSU at home. My guess is the standings finish like this....

1.) New Mexico
2.) UNLV
3.) San Diego State
4.) TCU
5.) Colorado State%
6.) Wyoming
7.) Boise State*
8.) Air Force

*If BSU beats SDSU in Boise(which is very possible, SDSU won in San Diego by 2), BSU moves past AFA to 7th.
%CSU beats UNLV, but TCU beats SDSU at home despite losing to WYO on Wednesday.

Meaning....the opening round would look like this.

1.) New Mexico
8.) Air Force

4.) TCU
5.) Colorado State

3.) San Diego State
6.) Wyoming

2.) UNLV
7.) Boise State

All speculation of course, but a likely scenario nonetheless.

We are at the time of the year when fans are entitled to start speculating about tournament seeding scenarios. I think your seeds are about what I expect they will be with SDSU as #3 and TCU as #4. I think it is a better draw for teams to be opposite UNLV, even if that means facing the top seed before the championship game.

Do you think TCU and their fans have the trip to Laramie chalked up as a "should win" game in much the same fashion that we thought the trip down to Ft. Worth and the AFA game in Laramie were "should win" games and New Mexico had our trip to Albuquerque slated as a "should win" game?

I expect that they do.

Of all the "Big Three" matchups, I like SDSU with their bench the best for our guys.

I think it's very likely the Pokes will play SDSU in the tourney. If that happens, my feelings are that it will come down to who is hitting their shots (both 3s and in the paint), and who gets in foul trouble. We can't keep missing the "under the basket" shots. Wyoming has as good a chance of getting into the championship game as anyone outside of UNLV.
