Second half woes now plaguing the first quarter!

What the hell...2 games in a row, against shit opponents, and 2 slow starts.

Seems the typical pizza & porn locker room experience has been moved from halftime to pre game.

Well, 1st series of the game for the offense Brett got his ankle rolled. And that hurts like a bitch right after it happens.

You are correct. But we still looked like shit, no matter, for the second home game in a row, 1st quarter.

We are 2 and 1..taking Nebraska to the mat. Maybe we should fire CDC? Is that what you are hinting at McPeachy?

To be fair, with the Idaho game we just came off playing Nebraska. So coming out slow isn't all that surprising.
With Northern Colorado, Brett got injured early on and that slowed us down. There isn't anything to worry about yet. Now if we come out slow against Air Force that could be a problem...

I really believe we need to come out and run on first downs. We have an impressive 1st down run average. So why not start off by pounding the defense up front, then give Brett a little time to settle down and actually look at what the secondary is doing. It seems like Brett is so fired up and full of adrenaline that he looks like a race horse getting out if the gate. The overthrows, bobbling of the ball etc. Let him settle down. Once he does that he is a machine. Imo

I think it would help greatly if the receivers could catch Brett's initial not-so-on-target throws as well. It's not like they're completely uncatchable - they're just not perfect like they are later on.

Thats very true also. Too many dropped balls against Idaho and NCU. I understand the ball was a little wet but still these are D1 football players who made a career out of catching tough balls.

The same team that "took Nebraska to the mat" looked like shit the first quarter of the last 2 games.

Not hinting or sugar coating anything. Hopefully that changes. I certainly think it will...

FIFY...

I think what McPeachy's "hinting" at is that there seems to be a motivation deficit coming out of the locker room.

I don't think motivation will be lacking against Air Force though.

Maybe we just play to the level of our opponent. I dunno what else it can be besides a let down in focus. :shit:

Seems like we lacked focus and motivation last two games. Still won big though which is a big improvement, last couple years we have lost or nearly lost in those type of games (Idaho, Cal Poly, Weber st. & New Mexico).

I agree with you my friend. I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss anyday. This Saturday will tell us exactly what this team is made of. I fully expect an offensive explosion by wyoming and a bend not break defense. If we can establish our run game with Wick that will allow Brett to do his thing. Cant believe we couldn't take advantage of NCU stacking the box. :brick:
