Season tickets for Wyoming football slightly behind 2014

As of Wednesday morning, Wyoming had sold 7,510 season ticket packages for the 2015 football season.

That's just behind the 7,554 the Cowboys sold in 2014.

A number of variables could be affecting that slight dip.

That said, with some consistent winning, Wyoming will & should be over the 10,000 - 12,000 easily.

Unfortunately, for football, we haven't really been able to test what winning would do. My guess is that attendance would go up quite a bit. November games kill us and I don't think there is a remedy for that.

Bball is suffering from a relative weak MWC (during our good year). If Shyatt can sustain success and UNLV, SDSU, and UNM (or others) pick up, then bball attendance will be fantastic.

We will never hit 10,000 with the current stadium situation. Why would anyone drive from Jackson for a thursday night ESPN game against Boise State the last weekend in November when they can sit in their warm home and and then sleep in their own bed and save their hard earned money? I hate to say that as a die hard fan, but its a reality. It really sucks at some of the late season home games, especially in the years where we are terrible...

Sounds like there are 4,771 single game tickets left for Saturday according to the ticket office twitter. I think they deleted the tweet though.

As a former, not current, season ticket holder IMO the stadium isn't the issue. The problem is the drive. For season ticket holders, you can either donate or eat them. If I had season tickets and couldn't make a Thursday night game, I would try to donate or give away so I know they'd be used.

There are a lot of alumni in the Denver areas. A couple good seasons could inspire a couple thousand more fans to purchase tickets. We could get over 10,000 IMO.

As a previous season ticket holder I can confirm the drive is my issue. 12 hours driving round trip on a nice day does not equate to going to six home games very often.

The long drive issue is why it's so important to maximize attendance from Laramie, Cheyenne, Casper? and even the front range.

For all you naysayers - if Wyoming were to win a MWC championship, and be poised to repeat...with a shot at maybe a NY6 game (ALA Boise Fucking State), there is not a doubt in my mind season tickets would be over 12,000 - and probably closer to 15,000. Hell maybe even higher than that.

Anyone know how big our fanbase really is within 2 or 2 1/2 hours of a drive to Laramie? Probably not, as we have never had to find out...or never have been in a position to find out. Sure would be awesome to find out - and have to expand the stadium and have some vision, rather than decrease the capacity and shoot for the FCS.

I agree 100% winning will bring up attendance, No one is interested in spending 12 hours on the road to watch a team struggle against anyone else.

Hell, I am not interested in watching a team struggle against anyone else, regardless - even if I could walk to the War. But then again, I am a huge Wyoming fan, and as such, my dick has been kicked in the dirt so many times, I am addicted to the pain at this point.

And you are spot on, we aren't close to selling out. Which is a product of not being close (like in the same galaxy or whatever) to winning a MWC championship - or more likely several in a row (which is what it would probably take).

I blame it on 2 games in November and unfortunately the TV at Laramie games, oh well it's the day and age we live in nowadays
