As if their offense could have done more damage on two drives than 14pts that their special teams got???? What the hell? TAKE THE LOSS.

I told my wife that when she was freaking out about the second kick return. I said, these kick off returns are a blessing in disguise. We're dominating time of possession. There asses are about to get wore out and we're going to dominate the fourth quarter.
SDSU fans were right about that. Those kick returns helped Wyomings offense.
I agree. Theyre lucky they scored those 14 or the score would have been much more skewed than it was. Their offense played 2 minutes and about 17 seconds of actually good football at the end of each half. Other than that, we dominated them.pokecountant said:Cowboy Junky said:pokecountant said:I thought I had seen it all. I see the logic, I understand it. I just have a hard time believeing that ANY coach on ANY level would rather not score on kick returns. If you told Rock that they would score twice on kick returns, he would have been pleased as punch. I don't think their offense was capable of wearing our D down. It wasn't like we stopped them in the red zone after they had put together a bunch of long drives (exluding their last one). We stopped them on 3rd down so many times.
You take those 14pts off the board, they come away with 3, 6, maybe 10? Either way, I think that we dominated them because we were better. Not because of some result of a hypotheical situation that never happened.
If anything, we need to take a hard look at our 2 minute defenseItSucksToBeACSURam said:I agree. Theyre lucky they scored those 14 or the score would have been much more skewed than it was. Haha, it's hard to say giving up two huge plays on special teams helped us but you're right. It definitely helped our O drag their D into the deep end and smother them. You could see the body language of that D slowly start changing about mid way through the 3rd. They were tired of running up and down the field at altitude. They were tired of chasing Allen all over the field just to get burned. They were flat OVER going toe to toe with Brian Hill. One underrated characteristic of Mr. Hill is that he is PUNISHING. There have been multiple games this season where you can see a team stop wanting to hit Brian Hill. He is ruthless and hits back. SDSU was there. They were tired of seeing him.Cowboy Junky said:Yeah, it's definitely being used by SDSU as more to add to their Encyclopedia of Wyoming loss Excuses.
It did help our offense though.

This is the ONE time I thought Pumphrey actually had an advantage on us. He is devastating in open field and we gave hime 30 yards of open ground before he saw a Cowboy jersey. I would imagine if we find ourselves in a similar situation in two weeks, Bohl and Co. will have a plan in place.whyoh said:If anything, we need to take a hard look at our 2 minute defenseItSucksToBeACSURam said:I agree. I'll tell you where we get absolutely slaughtered time and time again is when they send backs out of the backfield to catch passes. Air Force destroyed us like this. SDSU did. Boise did. Utah state did. and UNLV did. This is a major weakness in our defense.pokecountant said:Cowboy Junky said:Yeah, it's definitely being used by SDSU as more to add to their Encyclopedia of Wyoming loss Excuses.

Yeah true. I agree with whyoh, our 2 minute defense needs a little attention. I think the short crossing routes where Pumphrey ran away from our linebackers is what got us. That'll happen when our defensive backs are so far off the ball.
Imagine if we could cover jet sweeps and RB out of the backfield....LanderPoke said:I'll tell you where we get absolutely slaughtered time and time again is when they send backs out of the backfield to catch passes. Yep! I was dead wrong. Bring on the crow. If I could get some ketchup to make it palatable, that would be great!COS Cowboy said:SDPokeFan said:You figured it out! I hope you're a detective! No wait, you'd be terrible at it. I'm a Wyoming fan, through and through. Grew up in Wyoming, been cheering for them since I was old enough to walk. Sorry I'm not as constantly cheery about them as you. But, as I've told several people on this board, you don't get to choose who is a Wyoming fan and who isn't. Sorry.
You're the worst kind of fan. Quiet during the good times, but one slip up and you're Johnny on the spot to point out the bad.
SDPokeFan said:Everyone should definitely predict a win for the team that gave up 70 points and 400 rushing. Pumphrey will die of exhaustion from running up and down the field in this game.
But win we did. You were practically the only one who didn't think we would. Pumphrey was closer to dying from frustration.
SDPokeFan said:No, I'm a realist. A terrible UNLV team just ran up and down the field on us. What do you think one of the best running backs in the nation is going to do?
You ready to eat crow yet?

It's not an opinion. I got this picture of you and your two brothers at last years Homecoming game. That's you on the right isn't it?

Yep, after they gave up 770 yards and 70 points. And I stand by it. I actually don't mind talking to you because it's more chances to see your avatar.laxwyo said:SDPokeFan said:Cowboy Junky said:A sock puppet denying that he's a Cowboy with a San Diego fist up his ass, clever.

My favorite is when you called the D "fucking losers!" And they "should walk home" yeah, you're a great fan
