Screw Moral Victories

As DC said, you either win or lose.

But...there are clearly some positive things that lead me to beleive we really are headed in the right direction.

1)First and foremost some of our best players are freshman that were recruited in such a short period
-give DC a few years of recruiting and what might our athleticism be?
-ACS, alexander, gary, ruff (he seems to have a motor!), muhammad

2) The D may have given up 41 points (how many times will we ever see a McCoy?) but they really fly around and swarm to the ball.
-hendricks really impressed me today...our LB core of knapton, hendricks, johnson and biezuns is really good IMO
-marcel gipson played pretty good cover corner on a talented wr
-prosinski gets a lot of tackles and has a nose for where the play is headed, but he still makes some big mistakes (most notably McCoy's TD run)
-D-line definitely didn't play as well in the 2nd half, but I don't think we will see another OL like Texas. There is no quit in fletcher and unrein, how can you not like those guys!

3) I like Benjamin's running ability and his willingness to throw the ball away rather than make a big mistake, but he just wasn't very accurate today.
-Personally I would like to see ACS get the start against CU.
-We get 4 years with ACS? I think that bodes very well for us!
-Maybe it is me, but what if ACS was the starter and in certain situations we would put both ACS and Benjamin in, we could really give the defense troubles.

4) The bad news...
-I just don't think our WR's create nearly enough separation. We really need more speed. Clearly this position is our glaring weakness.
-TX has a kicker that sends every ball through the endzone. We can barely kick it past the 20. Come on! I've never seen so many line drive punts before and it seems to really work (or at least a lot better than the short punts we saw out of McCoy last year).

I disagree with your opinion on the starting QB. I was on the ACS bandwagon until I saw Benjamin this week. He stepped it up and showed true leadership on the field. As soon as his accuracy clears up he will be a star.

As far as kickers go, the walk-on that was handling kickoffs did a very good job IMO.

I have full confidence that we will DOMINATE CU next weekend!

Benjamin isn't cutting it. That guy has some major accuracy issues. We need to go with ACS. I honestly believe he is our best QB.

I like the way he handles himself on the field as well. But what leads you to believe that his accuracy is suddenly going to make a major change? We aren't talking about a freshman, we are talking about a junior who has had a few years of college already to hone his throwing ability. Its just difficult to sustain long drives with an inaccurate QB in this offense.

Then you must not expect much of anything from a kicker on kickoffs. Did you miss the opening kickoff in the 2nd half?
