The alliance would seem to make scheduling interesting in the future (provided it lasts).
I'm just ASSuming MWC schools and CUSA schools will find more match-ups in our OOC (although, 'within the alliance' might be more appropriate). I would think, scheduling appealing OOC games for the Big Boys may get a little more difficult. If, as some postulate, we come up with some kind of bracket to get to the alliance championship, I would think it would be even more problematic for the AQ's.
I wasn't all that jazzed about the Liberty Bowl thing back in the day but, the inclusion of a some kind of playoff/bracket system might change that. They need to rotate the championship site or designate a more appealing location for it IMHO. If it is handled right, it could be an interesting East vs. West thing. NBC or CBS really needs to grab onto this by both horns and help pump it up. That big dead zone between the more important bowls and the end of the regular season is just begging to be filled with content.
As someone on the other board pointed out, there are a significant number fans who will take an interest in MWC/CUSA games. That is a lot of TV sets.
This might not be such a bad thing.
