Schedule Released with Times

So the schedule is different. I am still excited for the season to start. I am happy that only 1 game is on the "new MW+" I may not subscribe this year. The cowboys will be on 10 national television games, and 1 on ESPN+. The Border War on Sept. 5 and on the USA Network is different. However with a win I could be on cloud nine early.

I have Wyoming going 8-4.

  • Saturday, Sept. 5: at Colorado State - 1-0
  • Saturday, Sept. 12: vs. Northern Colorado 2-0
  • Saturday, Sept. 19: at Central Michigan, 3-0
  • Saturday, Sept. 26: Hawaii, 1 p.m. 3-1
  • Saturday, Oct. 3: at North Dakota State, 4-1
  • Friday, Oct. 9: at San Jose State, 5-1
  • Saturday, Oct. 17: vs. Northern Illinois, 5-2
  • Friday, Oct. 23: vs. Air Force, 5-3
  • Saturday, Nov. 7: at UNLV, 5-4
  • Saturday, Nov. 14: at UTEP, 6-4
  • Friday, Nov. 20: vs. New Mexico, 7-4
  • Saturday, Nov. 28: vs. UConn, 8-4

We are going to lose to AFA and NIU at home but beat NDSU and SJSU on the road? 4 losses at home. Right.....
Even better....4 road wins.

Posted it before it could. AFA could make it 4-8.

I cannot recall a worse schedule in my 50+ years of fandom and love for Wyoming athletics. This schedule makes me want to puke. I just hope our attendance stays solid - a full stadium is an absolute blast. Of course, if Burman had his way, every seat would be a suite seat at $2,000 per. Even if that means dumbing down the stadium even further to a capacity of 10,000 or so.
Can UW sell any hard booze at the games? I'd think a free drink ticket for a whiskey and free hot chocolate for the game might be needed. They need to be thinking about how to get bums in seats for this. Of course, winning a lot of game would solve this

winning a lot of game
This is an absolute!

When Brandenburg had the team running on all cylinders and the fans expected to see winning they attended games.

Wyoming teams are not expected to win games (especially MWC games). There is no incentive to drive from Sheridan or Gillette let alone Casper or Cheyenne when the expectations of winning are lacking.

TV can be blamed only so much because nothing beats being a fan and gathering with other charged up fans winning a big conference game and being at or near the top of the standings. When you expect the programs to finish in the bottom half struggling to stay ahead of the also ran teams the option to turn off the TV or change the channel reigns supreme over attendance in person to be repeatedly punched in the gut and poorer for it.

I now live over 1,000 miles away but would be sure to select key conference matchups to attend if I expected the program to be competitive for a conference title. The Saturday November 21 game with UNM is an example with a return on December 4 for the championship game. If we are 5-0 in the MWC after the AFA game, I would consider a trip to Vegas and UTEP along with the UNM game.

Right now the only game I am likely to commit to in person is at UTEP and the 6th win last choice bowl game not played in Boise if we get to 6-6.
