Now give Sawvel his credit. He did say he has asked other coaches about this situation. Who are the others? Bohl, Bohl jr, Burman, the coach at Cheyenne South, a parent coach at a Laramie flag football contest, etc. Maybe he asked coaches from the 5 teams we have lost to and they all encouraged him to stay course while snickering under their breath

To his credit - he saved a pick 6 by tackling the player at the 5. Otherwise, it’d be worse.

Letting Svoboda keep the starting job sends the message that you are not in charge or worse, do not care about the rest of the team.

I didn’t want to come across as too negative. The D also prevented the 7 giving up 3 instead keeping the dismal offense in the game. In all fairness to the defense, they are constantly playing from behind too often and it hasn’t been limited to this year. The last game as far as I am concerned the defense held SDSU to 17 points. The offense scored 24 - 10 = 14.

It is an offense to the defense to be put in that situation.
