Saturday 5:30 Tipoff! Asstechs vs. Pokes!

Sounds like its going to be packed tomorrow. My wife needs to get her ticket. I guess we need to get 5 season tickets next season instead of 4

We win this, we are in contention for the MWC still.
Well, the team at least keeps pace for a potential NCAA berth. Starting conference play 1-3 before even playing CSU, UNLV, and UNM would put even an NIT berth at risk. That Fresno loss just looks terrible though. As Pat Forde would say on Twitter, that was a classic HLA: Horrible Loss Alert.

Today is a must win. If there ever was a must win it is today. You can't get your 3rd conference loss and 2nd conference loss at home to start conference play. This is a win that could get the confidence back. If you lose it then it will just magnify a downward spiral right now and make it 10 times worse.

Today's game is gut check time and will show if this team has any character to get up and fight or if they are just going to lay down and get kicked around. We will find out today if our team has any guts and fight in them. Wyoming needs to come out like a bunch of pissed of sailors and take control of the game. If they come out and lay down then I would say the season is pretty much over.

I can't stress enough how much of a must win this game is. The home crowd needs to make it like it's a pissed off hornets nest and help this team today.

C'mon pokes lets see what your made of!

Go Pokes!!!

Keys to the game;

1. Rebounding. SDSU has had issues against taller teams that can rebound well. As noted when they struggled against CSU and lost to UNLV.

2. Feed the post. Right now, we don't have anyone that can reliably make the 3 point shot, so get it down low to either Nance or Washington or let Adams slash in and take it to the basket.

3. Make the free throws. I hope to hell the whole team has been practicing the free throws, because the last few games they've been horrible at the charity stripe. And both losses thus far could have been won had they made those shots.

Bonus. Play both halves of the game. No more of this "sleepwalking" in the first half and creep back into the game the second. That is inexcusible.

Grabau is a good 3-point shooter but it seems they don't want to turn him loose.
Ball rotation is very predictable and slow with very few good screens or any deception.
Any opponent that wants to get inside appears to be able to.
Opponents pack the paint on defense because it appears that our bigs have trouble feeding the ball back out.
Just my observations.
