San Diego State for the last time

The last time SDS comes to Laramie. We are 2 pt. underdogs, which kind of surprises me. SDS has lost to Michigan, Arizona, and Baylor. But they are 4-0 in the conference. Can we win this one? I think it will take a Herculean effort. Should be interesting. A win against this team would give these guys a huge shot in the arm.

Against good teams, we almost always have that 5 or 6 minute stretch where we don't score. That didn't happen against UNLV because we got so many baskets inside the lane and we shot the 3 incredibly. It will be interesting to see if we can score inside tonight.

Almost feels like a “must win” game or this season could really go off the rails.

I just don’t think we have the defense to compete this year. Individual defense has been OK, but team defense/positioning has been horrendous this year.

It would be incredible for the pokes to win this one. I hope they come out hot and step on the gas pedal.

Why are they making such a big deal out of this being SDSU’s last game in Laramie? Couldn’t they still be scheduled as an out of conference opponent in the future?

No. Maybe they would let us go to them but they have made it clear that coming to Laramie is beneath them.

We are a potential 6th to 8th finish in the MWC.

Gores and Meyer have an excellent chance to cash in using the portal. Why stay for the shiny dime at a place that sends wheelbarrows of cash to the AD?

Maybe. Their future earning potential is an open question. Gores needs to get a lot stronger and develop some post moves. Meyer probably has earning potential but he's going to have to play a lot better than he showed tonight. If he goes to a good program, he may never see the floor. Both guys need at least another year at Wyoming where they will get a lot of minutes and a chance to develop.
I had no idea that Jeremiah Oden was on SDS roster. He looked like he had a real future here. He has had virtually no impact at the 2 schools he has played at since Wyoming.

At least he will go out playing for a winner.

I hope we can retain our eligible roster as each year is usually a stronger one than the previous. I still think Sundance can put a conference contender (instead of a pretender) on the floor - especially in the new MWC.

As I stated above, I was shocked we were only a 2 pt dog to SDS. If we had played their OOC schedule, we might only have 2 or 3 wins OOC. We are better than last year. But this team is a long ways off talent wise to compete against the best in the conference.

And in 4 years he has not gotten any better. His best years were in Laramie.

SDSU defense decimated our offense. Poor shooting %'s on both the field and 3...a testament to Dutcher and his defense. Wyoming sure didn't look "cowboy tough" last night. We got worked.

We were completely overwhelmed by their length and athleticism. Took us out of our offense and fast pace. That was pure domination after the 15 minute mark in the first half.
