RUN. THE. BALL.

Beating a dead horse, I know, but we MUST successfully run the football to win this game. Looking back at stats of AF opponents and just about everybody's rb's have averaged over 5 yards per carry.

Overstreet's week to shine! Josh should have some nice rushing stats as well.

I would let Granderson run it.

On short yardage situations I would be tempted. Utah state had a linebacker play both ways on occasion a few years ago

It's getting down to the nitty-gritty, time to lean on our strengths. We need to control the clock enough to keep our d fresh enough to remain very active.

Do whatever we need to do to offensively extend drives. We can't keep rolling the dice with dropped passes. That will, and already has, bit us in the ass. It is important to have success running the ball, especially on first down.

End of the day, just get the win.

Utah occasionally did the same with Weddle, I believe.

Especially given our rapidly thinning depth at DT.

Weddle was on the field quite a bit. Dude could honestly do it all. Obviously great on defense but also had a offensive career a lot guys would kill for. Shit I remember one game he had a punt return td a defensive td had a touchdown pass. Even punted and held kicks. I've never seen anything like it.

We did the same thing with Al Rich didn't we? I think we did.

Rich was converted to running back and trained in that role before his senior year (2000 I believe). However, I think he did some damage to his wrist against Auburn or Central Michigan early in season and it was end of his career. I don't think he ever really materialized at RB.

He had one hell of a career as safety though!

New Mexico used to have a guy that played on both sides of the ball...turned out to be a decent ball player if I remember right... ;) :D

Nothing like a good running game to open up a good passing game.
