Rumor Mill: Alvester going pro?

I feel AA has just as much chance of making a practice squad as Seldon/Moore had due to size it's quite unfortunate but he does not get the respect that is due to him and he was a very under utilized back this season.

From the looks of the draft and player ranking Gipson is the only player given any credit and they predict him to go FA.

Devin Moore

Man I miss those guys :( I wish the best for AA and I'll miss him as well.

Devin Moore was one of the best backs to come through wyo. imo, different scheme but I miss watching DMO go wild, there is a reason he is atop the wyo career rushing leaderboard. He only had two years starting because of fumbling issues AA had 3. Wish both the best of luck.

PS @5 is hard to miss, "Lewis down the sidelines...Lewis into the open field...he only has one man to beat...Beg your pardon, Devin Moore 98 yards for TD" great!

Given AA comments and a few twitters seems something is going on at home and AA is making a decision for his family income.

Hard to argue with that or blame it on current coaches

I wish him all the best, hope he makes a team, and flips the NFL world on its ass. We need good, solid, high profile NFL alumni from Wyoming. Go get them Al!

Oh, and for all you that are putting him down, get a fucking clue. This shouldn't be how UW fans treat past players...totally classless. They guy did everything at UW he was asked, and then some! He was outstanding for the lack of PT he got this past season. I'll never forget The Five!

by saying we think he isn't ready to go to the NFL is putting the guy down?? You get a clue- we don't think he is ready, we would love to have him for another year and watch him be a higher draft pick. I don't think I have read anything where someone is putting him down and saying good riddance....chill out.

Quotes are below (from this thread), take 'em how you wish, tone is hard to read, but I read it as "putting the guy down" ...absolutely. AA at SDSU last season, instead of Hillman, and he would easily have been a 1000+ yard rusher. He is strong, quick, and has good speed.

"Odd move.....whoever is speaking into AA's ear needs to stop. I know money is crucial, more for some than others, but he is not going to get drafted."

"I got a better shot of being the next heir to the Playboy Magazine empire than AA getting drafted into the NFL!!!!"

"what an idiot! what is happening in Laramie"

"He wasn't even the best running back on the team!"

"Either that or he is just delusional that he will get drafted."

ETC. ETC. ETC. There is more of the same to read if you wish.

Also remember he did not hire an agent. Door is still open to return if NFL flops. I think he is testing the waters due to a family problem at home (just my guess)

I do agree many on here are putting the guy down when they have no clue as to what is driving this

In the Boomerang this morning, there was an article about this, it said that AA was doing it for family matters, so those of you throwing him under the bus or saying it was a stupid move, should probably reconsider.

Look the guy is talented, but I have a hard time seeing him being drafted. I will eat crow if he is, but he hasn't really turned any heads. I think he has great talent, but I think he needs to stick around for another year to really increase his stock. I understand that he may have family problems, but realistically it's not going to help if he doesn't get drafted or even a FA signing. I don't think he is an idiot, I don't think he is delusional, but I also don't think he is ready for the NFL and I don't think he is going to be drafted.

SLCPoke you are absolutely right, stay in school get your degree, one more year will help you in your pursuit of the NFL. That degree will help you and your family, bet on sure things and cinches, get that degree and everything else will come.
