Robert Benjamin to transfer

ACS has the starting job locked up and I doubt Benjamin wanted to try and make it as a WR. Good luck to him.

Well, Good for Robert, though, being a senior, transferring is going to be difficult unless he goes to D2.. under transfer rules, he cannot transfer to FCS, and if he moved to a FBS program he'll have to sit out a year.

Scary though having Dax as the #2.

Let's hope that ACS never gets hurt. Maybe Stratton will be ready to step up - he is a duel threat QB but is coming off an injury.

Perhaps a new recruit or transfer will pop up.

-This actually really sucks and quite honestly doesnt make much sense from Benjamin's perspective. I highly doubt any FBS schools are going to give Benjamin 2-years worth of schollies for 1 year of football. I'm thinking he ends up at some D2 or NAIA school.

-Kinda thinking Adam Barry regrets leaving now.

-Stratton is coming off a major knee injury and as a freshman, I'm not sure we can rely on him to be the backup next year.

-For sure will bring in another QB recruit now. Probably someone who was heading to an FCS school...unless we can steal someone from a San Jose State or something (ala ACS).

Dax Crum was senior wasn't he?

No he will be a SR for the 2010 season. Don't forget we have a walk-on from Colo. Sprgs.,Cobb. Don't know if he has what it would take to take over the No. 2 spot. I don't think Dax and this offense are a good fit and wouldn't be surprised or blame him if he were to transfer also. This could reopen the door for Bennett also.

Did Barry leave the program completely? I remember him being moved to LB, but not sure what happened to him after that.

When you stop and think about it, recruiting the QB position at UW right now has to be one of the toughest recruiting jobs in the country. Why? Because we had a freshman QB last season that everyone is extremely high on, he's probably going to be our QB for 3 more years, and very few want to sign on to be a backup QB for 3 years. However, ACS as our QB for the next 3 years is not set in stone. He could get injured or start having the problems that Sween had. Maybe recruiting the JC route is the way to go - at least this season and then go after a top HS QB next year and then redshirt him his first year.

Look at the pickle that Texas got themselves in by not having a backup. They thought Colt McCoy was invincible.. then he got hurt in the biggest game of the year and only had a true freshman to back him up.. bad deal to be in, I'd hate to see Wyoming in a similar role.
