Regardless of how this season ends it has been highly entertaining.

It's not just the wins and losses but how we have won and lost this year.

Triple overtime barn burner into the wee hours of the night against northern Illinois.

Playing toe to toe with Nebraska in Nebraska until the 4th quarter.

A blow out win against an fcs school when we didn't know how good of a team we had.

One score loss to eastern Michigan in a game that saw us get defensive scores and josh Allende amazing hurdle that could have won the game but landed inches short.

A blow out come behind victory against csu in the boarder war. The game where I really started thinking maybe 6 wins was a possibility.

The Air Force game where we dominated most of the game. When they were undefeated and had one of the best rushing defenses in the nation and had just beat navy.

The Brian hill flu game that saw him rush for 200 yards in a game that saw Wyoming win by one score on the road but was not as close as the score indicated.

The Boise state game where our guys flat out went toe to toe with one of the best teams in the conference and one of the best group of five teams in the nation making all the plays we had to make and ending with the dramatic safety and iconic safety dance and storming the field.

Follow that game up with a revenge game beat down of Utah state after josh Allen made one of the many spectacular touchdown throws of the season to gentry in the corner of the end zone.

And even our worst loss of the season goes down as one of the most amazing games I have ever seen with tanner gentry looking all world with his two ESPN top ten catches. Triple overtime thriller that went the bad guys way.

Finally our win against San Diego state that was a cowboy tough win if I have ever seen one. This game was the game we had to win and we found a way albeit in dramatic fashion to do so.

This season has been so much fun and I can't look back at one game that I walked away not entertained and proud of our teams grit and never give up attitude. Love this cowboys squad!

Here's hoping they continue to play like they have and we find a way to beat New Mexico and host San Diego state in Laramie for the mwc championship

I agree with this. What a great year. Two losses combined total of 6 points. Even that Neb game seemed closer than the score. Undefeated at home? Huh? Go from 2-10 the year before to this. This year has been the first in along time where I saw guys who didn't give up and just scrappy.

so who's going to play Bohl when they make the movie?

i vote for this guy

Regardless what happens next couple weeks, Pokes have far and away exceeded my hopes and expectations. Especially after starting 2-2. They were a young team that still getting better.

I'm not convinced that that is NOT Coach Bohl.

Ha! After the last two seasons, I thought he was going to be flying loads of rubber dogshit out of Taiwan, and then he went and totally redeemed himself!!!

Really nice summary. Football is a violent game and there will be injuries, but think about what has been accomplished with probably the best D-lineman and pass rusher (Granderson) going down in game-one, Cummings and his experience lost for the season at O-tackle, and, of course, another outstanding D-lineman, Chase, missing game time with injuries (and now out for the season).

This program is still trying to build depth -- particularly on the defensive side -- and Bohl's troops have a shot in Year-Three to host an MWC Championship game?? Really? All-around outstanding job by staff/players. Future looks bright. Can't wait to see how this recruiting class shapes up in February.

Agree with the sentiments of the original post, and comments from Poke Fan as well. Has been a looooong time for this Wyoming fan, to have something like this happen on the gridiron in front of my eyes. 20 years basically, with smattering and glimpses prior (late 80's) and some since (late 90's).

I will have been to 10 of the 12 games this year as well...something we planned out prior to the end of August. Somewhat reminds me of my decision to go to the MWC championship basketball tourney in 2015...after missing the previous 2 years. Good call McPeachy!

I wouldn't miss the possible MWC title game for anything. Hosting the title game is better than any bowl game IMO. That game, now that they have played each other, would be a totally different game plan.

On a whim we went to Vegas tourney in 2015, then to Seattle the next week. Worth every hour and every penny. Thanks to the diehards who attend the games that many of us cannot.

Agree. Conference titles are what it's all about. Doesn't get any better for Pokes fans.

I think what I'm the most excited about is how good our O-line has been, considering their lack of experience.
Wallace (SO) and Schwab (RFR) at LT
Rush (FR) and Turner (SO) at LG
Roullier (SR) and Ebbesen (SR) at C
Jackson (SO) and Stirneman (JR) at RG
Jolly (SO) and Moody (SR) at RT

Yeah, we'll need somebody with experience to move to C next year, but aside from that, how good is this line going to be in 2018??? Allen might be able to QB sneak for 3-4 yards without being touched. :P

And on top of that, we look like we're also recruiting extremely well for the lines to refill the cupboard too!

Anyone notice how they jacked hotel rates by $100 on December 3rd?

Yeah, C is the only spot on the line with a big ? for next year. The question is, do we move the most experienced guy (Cummings) to that spot? Jolly has looked good filling in at RT in his place. Or do we go with a young guy who will have more time to grow and develop in that new position like Rush? Or is a freshman going to come in and take that spot from day one, like Nick Carlson seemed to do if I remember correctly.

It's times like these that having a family member still live in Laramie becomes very convenient.
