Credit where credit is due, week CDC called a great game and week Pokes were well prepared.
week, I ate my Crow with a smile on my face, harboring a hope that I was wrong about our defense and our offensive line. Still skeptical, and feeling a little foolish, I secretly hoped that I would continually be proven wrong, as CDC brought back a golden age and I was forced to feast steadily on bad bird all this season.
Unfortunately.....its now this week
So...Credit where credit is due...In this game our Pokes not well prepared and we were blown out...we were out-coached before and during game by Franchione. Our defense was patic and our offensive line was blown apart. short line to steal CDC away from UW got a little shorter-so at least we have that going for us.
No one should have been surprised that this was going to be a tough game for Pokes. This TX program has been steadily improving since day Franchione arrived. Pick Pokes to win on strength of one good win, OK. But no one should have predicted that we would win in a blowout. That is both boastful and foolhardy, and those birds are coming home to roost...
So Beaver and Sunshine Gang-this crow's for you-and I thought I'd share a recipe
I cant really recommend recipe for my flavour of crow-its different than crow you are eating today
My approach makes Crow I eat much tougher and more shriveled up than it should be..served cold.. cooked in a wet blanket- all wet with ruffled fears, I have to eat it with a jaded eye. While it is bitter going down (knowing I am a pessimistic old coot) I eat it knowing things are going to get better for pokes, and that leaves a nice aftertaste. Actually, I don't get to eat it as often as I should...
Your Crow will be overheated with a sunshine pump and overstuffed with hot air -with rainbows coming out its ass, its coated with a sweet and sour sauce and should look better through those rose colored glasses. Unfortunately, your Crow has a callow and foolish seasoning, and bile and bitterness of its aftertaste can only be washed clean with some cool, clear perspective.
Well, we both love our Pokes...and thats why we eat our Crow..
and we both hope we can get this thing turned around.
But until we can, would you please stop predicting blowouts and turn off those sunshine pumps? If we get to a bowl, it is going to be sweeter for fact that we were never sure we'd be re. Trash talking is for tinhorns and tallywhackers. Lets take this one game at a time, cause its pretty clear we cant overlook anyone.
