REALISTIC finish to the season

I am curious what you all think are REALISTIC finish for the season. Today (here is my bi-polar homerism coming out), but I had this thought that maybe this is exactly what the team needed. Meaning this loss to UNR. I see the records of the teams they have lost to, and they are quality teams.

I am disappointed that we have lost 4 games. I look at this season, and holy ####, we have Brett vs Toledo, Cal Poly and Nevada and we win. End of story. However...we didn't, so thus the thread.

10/13/12 vs. Air Force W
10/20/12 at Fresno State L
10/27/12 vs. Boise State L
11/03/12 vs. CSU W
11/10/12 at New Mexico W
11/17/12 at UNLV W
11/24/12 vs. SDSU W

Am I completely smoking crack to think that we could win 5 of the next next 7 games?

Someone please call me either crazy or optimistic, cause I am obsessed with this last week's loss right now. Yes, it even has kept me up at night.

The players seem confident, do the fans?

I wouldn't say its crazy to think they could win 5 out of their next 7....anything is possible. But I think its equally as possible for the team to go 1 out of 7 also (Colorado State).

I think they beat Air Force, Colorado State, and one of UNLV/New Mexico.

I think this week will be big though.....after a deflating loss in Reno, bouncing back is crucial. Win, and bowl eligibility isn't completely out the window. Lose, and this season could spiral out of control....if it hasn't already.

I think it is very possible. We already had a season worth of bad luck, its time this thing turns around. I think (and have been saying for weeks) I think we can all our November games. That leaves us needing to win one in October to get to your 6-6. We will need to pull a couple upsets. Now... if we happen to lose to AFA, I think our odds decrease immensely as they will probably our tightest upset chance as far as the odds go. SDSU will be the other one I think we will have our best chance upsetting (hopefully, by then we are on a winning streak and it isn't even an upset)

Personally, I'd rather just win the next 2 AFA and Fresno St... then things would really be looking up. Gotta get this first win here this weekend. Come on boys... don't let last week affect you, play like your hair is on fire! and get after the Falcons.

I think Falcons, Cowboys and Aztecs are in a fight for 2 bowl games. I think 2 of the 3 will go bowling, with all three hovering around 5 to 7 wins by seasons end.

gotta win, gotta win, gotta win, gotta win, gotta win, gotta win, gotta win, gotta win!

MUST WIN THIS WEEKEND! You can do it Boys!

If we defend the run like we did last weekend we will win this game!

I'll just say that there isn't a team on the schedule that Wyoming can't hang with if Brett is in the game. Nevada was possibly the best team in the conference and we hung close with them and shut down their awesome run game. I think we'll be underdogs against a few teams but I don't think there is a team far superior left on our schedule.

I kind of skirted the question by not giving a prediction but I'll say for the sake of this board that we split with Fresno and Boise winning one of those two games and win the rest of the games on our schedule. This may seem overly optimistic but I would say we are the best 1-4 team in the country and the ball will start to bounce our way against far lesser competition then we have faced so far.

Far lesser? This team lost to Cal Poly and barely got passed Idaho. It would be very unwise to overlook New Mexico and UNLV. Both teams historically have UW's number in Albuquerque and Vegas. Colorado State will be the easiest, but even they cannot be completely overlooked.

Like I said, this weekend will be crucial. Beat AFA, and this team will have some momentum to make a run at a bowl game. Far from a lock, but its possible. However, lose this game, and I wouldn't surprised if CSU is the only other win this team has in 2012.

Cal Poly was played with our B squad. In other words minus brett, and assuming he's healthy we blow out Cal Poly and don't try to argue that fact. With an inept backup we almost beat them anyhow. Idaho was a game that shouldn't have been as close as it was but I would put Idaho in the same overall ballpark as UNLV both lost to an FCS school.

We are going to win out boys. Mark my words. Or don't if I'm not right. In fact if I'm wrong forget I said anything

Realistic or not, my dream scenario would be to run the table, have nevada lose a couple so we are conf champs yet somehow still get matched up against toledo in a bowl game and stomp a mud hole in their ass! No way all that happens but it is still my dream. With Brett finishing games I believe we would be 4-1. I also feel that the crap from the toledo game is still affecting us because of all the losses, frustration, and late hits caused us to overboil in Reno. Ya, it shouldn't still affet us but I feel it has and therefore blame 3 losses on toledo crap and would love some football vengence at a neutral site in december.

I agree with your posts except i think we get it done against Boise St and pull the upset....hopefully it's time to watch the Pokes team we're all accustomed too!!!
