question about the attendance...

Can the administration, or better yet, will the administration alter the reported attendance tomorrow? I have thought all week that they will probably get 10,000 or 11,000 for the game. Some on here said lower than that and I could see that also. But no matter what the actual attendance is, will the university announce a bigger crowd to apease the NCAA? Can they do that? If only 8,000 or 9,000 show up, one would have to believe that the university will alter that number, wouldn't they?

I think they will announce paid attendance + students. Think of those games in 04 (UNLV? and CSU) where the roads were closed and they were plowing the field prior to the game. I'm pretty sure they still reported a decent number, considering the situation.

I believe the new rules since ~2005 dictate that schools are supposed to report actual attendance, which includes both teams, fans, refs, security, etc; but not unused purchased tickets. I don't know how much schools can fudge the numbers but I am sure they do everything they can.

The numbers will be fudged. The ticket office expects 6K - 8K. Announced will still be about 12K no matter what the "real number" is. Think of it as UNLV math.

In my opinion, Wyoming is more accurate than other schools. At times it seems that we have undercounted because the stadium seems more full than the announced attendence.

I guess we'll see. As bad as the football team is, I refuse to be negative about every little thing.
