QB Thoughts.......

From the interviews on KFBC and what I have read in the papers so far, I would say that there is a very low chance (say less than 10%) that a QB currently in camp will be starting this fall. I would be shocked at this point in time if Benjamin or Carta-Samuels isn't running the show come the end of fall camp. They were recruited for this sytem and our current QB'sd are pro-style players. What do you all think?

Reading between the lines...from the Boomerang...I would say you are correct. Arroyo is standing ground though, and won't say anything other than "the competition is open". Whatever. Just by him saying that a starting QB won't be named until the fall even.

If I remember correctly, Sween ran the spread in high school. I know how most feel about Sween, and I don't think he is the answer either, but if that joke Crum wins the job, we are in serious trouble.

If either of them get it we are screwed. The last coaching staff was not good at coaching or finding good QBs. If they were good they aren't anymore... They might be good for ball holders...

Gotta kinda feel bad for them a little bit. Karsten is probably to mentalily scarred to do anything again. Maybe Karstencould of been good in another system or better coaching, but the same goes for Doss, Bramlett, maybe even Crum (although he really probably was just a p.o.s.) Or Maybe they just all sucked and we didn't know how to recruit. either way i'm pullin for Adam to be our starter, but it'll probably be one of the new guys

If we don't see dramatic improvement in our receiving, I don't know that it will matter who is behind the center. Our QBs have received alot of criticism these past few years, and certainly justified criticism. But this is about the weakest receiving corp we've had for a long time.

I have to agree. Way too many balls being put on the ground both last year and this spring. It doesn't help matters that Bolling is out for the rest of the spring. That probably wouldn't be a big deal with him being a senior, but since we have a new offense to learn, it will be a bit bigger problem. Brandon Stewart looks to me to be the best receiver we have. He would be follwed by Bolling and honesty, next would be Zach Bolger. None of the other guys even look like they belong on a D1 football team at this point. That isn't a good sign to only have 3 capable receivers in a spread offense. As I meantioned before, I'm not comfortable with any of the 3 current QB's on the roster either. Missing too many throws and making bad decisions with the ball. The latter of those is absolutely killer to a spread offense. Right now, I would say this offense is marginally improved at best. Only time will tell.

i'm not a huge greg boiling fan. stewart seemed to be are best reciever down the home strech last saeason so i agree with him being number one. it be nice if the kid from casper turned out being good i remember him having a impressive spring last year to, maybe he's a sleeper. im expecting some playing time and productivity for leonard( kid honestly thinks he''s black lol lugz boots and all) and donte morgan if he's still around

David Leonard will definitely see some time at WR, but more out of necessity than him being an impressive receiver. His development has been a little bit discouraging. Right now, he looks like an OK receiver. Donate Morgan is still around. He has been in a red jeresey lately. We need some tougher receivers. Way too many of them sitting on the sidelines. Learning this new offense is important for the wide outs and you can only learn so much by looking at the playbook. You can learn a lot by actually getting out there and running the routes against a live defense.
