Cowboy Altitude has a good write up on this and makes some good points...

CSU > UW = bullshit back to back to back 3-9 season, 3 straight loses in the border war :brick: It must be that new stadium that is the talk of the town and automatically raises your ratings.

What about being ranked below SDSU too. Talk about a team that is overhyped year in and year out only to never do anything.

I agree with the Fuck you EA.

I've been done with EA after last years pile of garbage they called NCAA 12. They don't give a damn about making the game better. I will not fall for their BS again. They are all hype and no substance. If only EA had some competition...

Wyoming's ratings are baffling. The defense loses a few key leaders in tackles and turnovers from a defense that ranked 119th total, but they're rated higher than Smith and the offense? These guys seriously need to watch the Temple game. Offense should be in the mid-80s, defense mid-60s as best.

Edit: Texas is 99 overall? No team that beats BYU by one point and is held under 20 points deserves a 99 overall rating. CSU's rating is stupid too. Just because you return a bunch of players does NOT mean the next season will include more wins or a better team.

Did Texas pay EA sports for that 99 rating?

Wouldn't surprise me in the least. And they'd probably be smart to do it too. It amazes me how many people around the world who state they became Colorado Avalanche fans based on them being one of the best teams in EA Sports NHL games. These people have no ties to Denver or Colorado, yet they still buy plenty of merchandise, and the ones who are now adults do splurge on a long trip to come watch a game.

How many kids can Longhorns sway by being the best team in a video game? What will that do for future recruiting? Hard to quantify exactly, but you can bet your rear end that there's at least a few who will be affected, which also gives them a small long term advantage.

I am surprised they gave us six 80's. I think they got Smiddy about right 84 ovr, 83 spd and with two years of progression in the game he will be around 90-92 his sr year. I think we all can agree EA got it right in that he is the best offensive player we have.
