Prosinski....

Our best players of all time don't do s##t in the pros, except maybe one tight end and another guy who played on some dolphin team before I was born.

You're thinking of

Jay Novacek who played for Arizona and Dallas from the mid-1980 to the late 1990s
Jim Kiick, who played on the last undefeated NFL Championship team, the Miami Dolphins in 1972

Yeah, I knew Novacek and couldn't quite remember the other guy. I was being vague to make a point. We don't have many that have done much.

I don't think it's too cool to call out a player by name so aggressively. It's one thing to say that player xxx missed a tackle, catch, field goal, block, etc., but to tear into someone's career is bad form. Especially when most people who know what they're talking about would disagree with you. But it's an open forum so do what makes you feel good. If Prosinski read your post he'd probably have a good laugh or feel sorry for you.

To be fair, I think Prosinski will receive a tryout contract the way our defensive linemen did this past summer, but I highly doubt it'll be more than that. If he can prove me wrong - awesome!

Wendling is BARELY surviving as a safety in the NFL, and I still feel he's quite a bit ahead of Prosinski. Remember how dominant Eric Weddle was in college? Now he's a "good" NFL safety. Still not great, but good enough that he won't have to worry about getting re-signed when his contract expires. He'll have a new contract as well as a raise for sure. Wendling's not in that kind of position... sure he'll probably keep his career alive, but it won't be easy for him.

Hey JC!!!!! did you have any problems with Wendling????? Pro is just as good. What about Derick Martin??????
By the way you really need to stop the !!!!!!!'s and the ??????'s and the .........'s it's really annoying just type so we can read.

Pro is not as good as Derick Martin or Wendling!! Those guys made it to the show, Pro will not. He probably won't even make the practice squad. Everyone thinks he is better than he is because he is from Wyoming, plain and simple. He's the best we got right now and pretty darn good. Don't be throwing out comparisons to guys in the pros. Wendling did exhibit some of the similar flaws as Pro in the secondary but made up for a lot with speed and athleticism.

There are quite a few other notable names, sure we don't have the same turnover that bigger schools have but saying only 2 leaves off a long list of very accomplished athletes.

Well, there have been great cowboys, but not great pro athletes. The guy with the most rushing yards in UW history can only make a team as a returner. Some of our greatest WR's didn't play in the pros. Floyd is one, but I'm wondering what other positions you are talking about? Like I said, I don't want to hear names of guys who played when African Americans weren't in pro football. Chukwurah had a short career in which he didn't play much. Elling kicked a little. Any QB's that weren't 3rd stringers? Mitch Donahue didn't do anything and from what I hear, he was one of our best.

I'm just saying that Wyoming's best isn't necessarily pro quality. Once every great while, it happens. But not much.

Isn't Novacek in the pro hall of fame as a te. Adam Goldberg started on the oline for the viking & rams, but your right in recent years there isn't much. I guess Scotty Vines played and started for the lions too.

Novacek is NOT in the Pro football Hall of fame but he IS in the College football hall of fame.

Ryan Yarborough was a first round pick and started for the Ravens. I think he had a lot of injuries and was not in the league that long. I think he was as good as I've ever seen at Wyo..

I agree on Yarborough & Marcus Harris was real good too, but I can't remember if the OL was real good then or not. The OL must have been good for them to do as well as they did.

Just checked and Ryan Yarborough was NOT a first Round pick. He was selected in the 2nd Round of the 1994 Draft by the Jets with the 41st pick.

Considering they gave Nebraska a scare when they were running for the NC, I'd say the O-line was pretty damn good.

The OL was very good. You might remember Steve Scifres, who was probably the best OL we have had in modern times. He was a dominant force (drafted in the 3rd round by Dallas) and his career overlapped both Yarborough and Harris. He was a senior on that great 96 team.

suck it!!! chris pro steps up once again

And then give up a 46 yard completion by being a moron on 3rd and 12. He had NO reason to bite on the run on a third and long. San Diego will likely score right before half time because of it. He's really absolutely HORRIBLE on pass coverage.

You even said in the other thread, he was one of the 2 guys who bit on that. They must have seen something that we didn't at home on the TV. He's played big today. It's fans like you that get me frustrated...no matter how much good a guy does, you'll bite on the one that he didn't and go off on him.
