Proper time to lobby for names on uniforms?

I have a great idea....let's let coach Bohl coach his team and make football related decisions.

Oh sure.

This is fan related, and booster related, and donor related, and State of Wyoming related, and as such, the MF'er needs to put names on the backs of uniforms.

He can decide the rest - Cowboy Tough, War Daddy, all that shit.

Oh - and why sent out recruiting propaganda showing names on the backs of uniforms to recruits, if that isn't the intention? Lame!

And while we're at it, let's get the full name back on the front. I've never likes "WYO" on the front.

+1 BILLION. I hate that it's just "WYO" Needs to be WYOMING in large letters so you can see it from space!

Maybe we can spice things up a little... maybe use nicknames like the NBA Christmas jerseys? Or have the names in braille?

I seriously don't get it. We have brown pants (spring game), we have gold jerseys ( tweets from recruiting visits), recruits are sent pictures of cool looking concept helmets (like J-Rod's picture), yet we go out every Saturday like Wyokie is our fashion designer...

HEY, I take offense to that!!!! :tickedoff:

/tongue-in-cheek/

Waiting to see what Mcpeachy is going to bitch about next.

MFer? Really?

I forgot this was a message board, where posters are afforded / allowed to post opinions about things related to Wyoming athletics. If there were never anything to discuss (bitch about)...

And MFer is a term of endearment (to me). Really.

Now let us all hold hands by the fire, grab a marshmallow and sing happy songs.

Isn't the reason for names so the players can be identified on television? It's not like you can see the names from the stands.

Maybe once the 'Pokes start playing more than a couple games a year on a channel only a half dozen people get we can put the names back on.

sorry, i'm against it until you are a pro, makes for too much individualism but that's me, fans learn the numbers and know them game in and game out

I changed my mind. Names on the back or modern uniform combos might make us lose.

I think we should just wear all white, No wait all white is an omen for always losing we never beat anyone in white.
And we do beat people in Brown? News to me.

If you don't care about your fans - don't put numbers on the jerseys. Hell, half the time when I'm watching TV and see Hill run - I only know its him because of his long hair cut. Now, try to train new cowboy fan's - and I hear this regularly from my GF - why is there two number XY so and so's - that is so confusing. Well, offense has a number, defense does, the lines numbers are in these ranges, eligible ball carriers in this series, this that the other. Its so much easier when the name is on the jersey.

There's this thing when you're watching a game on TV called commentators. They get paid to tell you who made the last tackle or caught the last pass.

Though many times, they don't know how to pronounce the player's name and often butchers it throughout the entire game (Hawaii last year and the one guy who kept calling Biezuns "Beezens" a few years ago come to mind).

This is all nonsense. By god, Alabama and Penn State don't succumb to this modern day garbage. You guys just stop. We need to go the other way. Leather helmets. Now that is Cowboy Tough. If the kids can't handle that or don't want to play in leather helmets, eff 'em, we wouldn't want them anyway. Sissies.

Probably in the minority but I would really like to see the names on the jerseys. I guess I'm too lazy to keep going to a program to get the names.....matched with the number. That is if I'm not feeling too cheap to buy a $5.00 program.
