"Probably a couple thousand student tix remain for texas"

I just talked to someone about 10 minutes ago, at the handout window for student tickets. She did not have an exact number of how many student tickets had been given out for the game, but her exact words were: "we probably still have a couple thousand tickets." She also mentioned that students need to pick them up this week, or they will have to pay the $55 to go to the game.

So it sounds to me that anywhere from 4500-5500 tickets have been given out, leaving 1500-2500 to still be given out. It also sounds like if they are not given out by Friday they WILL go on sale for $55 a piece.

Hopefully more people will pick them up this week, otherwise hopefully there are still wyoming fans outside of the school interested in going, or we may see an influx of texas fans in the student sections.

Also anyone who has a membership to the pay board on the rivals site is welcome to copy and paste this over there, because I want this information to get out to as many students as possible so the tickets will be picked up, but I can not post over there.

If UW can't get them out of their dorms or houses for Texas not sure what would get them out.

I find this kind of hard to believe. Shocking actually. As a former student, during my years in Laramie, I would have waded through miles of elephant shit up to my chin, just to get in LINE to see if I had a chance at a ticket to a UW game this magnatude.

McPeach - I totally agree! Maybe it is because back then, drinking age was 19? Who knows. Anyway, I would argue...wait, no I wouldn't because this that IS the biggest game EVER in Laramie, football or basketball. The number 2 team in the nation?? Are you kidding me?? And kids won't come out? What are they doing... studying? doubtful. This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard!!!!

i bet a lot of the students think it is going to be like every other home game, you walk to the gate and hand them your ID and they scan it and you get in. im sure plenty of people dont know you have to pick up your tickets. their needs to be signs and banners around campus and the dorms and even the city to reach to the students

I remember when I was in college my freshman year it was a big deal that BYU was coming to town, the highest ranked team to ever play in the War.. I think they were #4, Brandon Doman was QB, Staley was possibly RB? Game was pretty full as I remember. I would hope the students put down the "books" and come to the game.

I also thought they would hand all of them out... but keep in mind this means 5 or 6 thousand students have picked up tickets. That is almost half the student population. Keep in mind MANY students could care less about football or sports in general, and many of those same students also dont care about drinking and partying, so they dont come for the pure fun of it as many non-football enjoying students do. To me this is sad, but i bet you'd be hard pressed to find very many universities out there who could get more than half of their student population to come to a football game, maybe i'm wrong...
