lol really? He had to acknowledge a move down question? Come on....
makes me sick that anybody could even ask that with a straight face

I hate to be a wet blanket here, but unfortunately, to be reasonable, we have to admit that we are competing beyond the size of our enrollment and fan base population at the level we are competing. Bigger schools in larger population centers do play at the FCS level. That means that we will rarely play the part of Goliath and we should not be too surprised when our record over the long term looks like what one would expect from David in a 7-fight series.

I am glad we are sticking with FBS and the MWC, but we are a long way from stepping into the University of Utah's shoes athletically or academically.
TCU's enrollment is between 6 and 7K.

Simply not true. There are quite a few FBS schools with smaller enrollments, although many of them are private and/or military. However, there are many FBS schools with smaller fanbases. In 2012 there were 32 FBS schools with lower attendance than Wyoming as one measure. That is just one measure of fanbase size. As you may recall, the NYT had an article calculating fanbase size (http://thequad.blogs.nytimes.com/20...+Sports)&seid=auto&smid=tw-nytimessports&_r=0) a while back and Wyoming came in at 72, a little bit higher than our attendance average (high 80's to 90) would indicate. There are reasons for that, but it's not really the point.

Also, keep in mind that there are FCS schools moving up every year and they all have lower attendance and smaller fanbases than the Pokes (one exception is UTSA).

If we were trying to compete in the PAC12, then yes, we would be out of our element. But in the MWC, we fit right in when it comes to infrastructure (Fanbase, attendance, facilities, budget, etc.).
