President Reeves

Just give residents of bordering states 1.5 or 2 times in-state tuition. Would probably see a thousand or more matriculate on that discount alone.
They do have quite a few options for residents of bordering states already. As you probably know, UW participates in WUE - this gives discounts to students from most of the western United States. They also now offer a "Good Neighbor Discount" to all bordering states. While it certainly helps, it still leaves about $12-13k in uncovered tuition for out-of-state residents. Room and board is required for freshman and is an additional $14k. So about $27k per year even with the Good Neighbor Discount.

If you are not a resident of a nearby state, you are pretty much screwed. Tuition plus room and board at full cost is $36k per year. My daughter, who is very strong academically (99% percentile for both SAT and GPA), was offered a grand total of $12k in scholarships at UW. This still leaves us $24k per year to cover. Baylor University ($77k/year total cost of attendance) offered her so much more in scholarships that it will actually be cheaper for her to attend there then it would be to attend UW.

You sure on those numbers? WUE should only be $8500 annually plus room and board.

I was referring to the “Good Neighbor Discount”. This includes a few states that are not part of WUE.

WUE is a pretty good deal. The Good Neighbor Discount is less so. If you happen to not be from a WUE or neighboring state, then UW is, frankly, not a good deal at all.

I’m not sure of the validity nor do I want to start a political argument but I hadn’t seen this posted anywhere.

Just when I thought I couldn’t be more excited about a college president, he goes and ups his game even more!

Lots of kids that are not LDS go to uu of u or Utah state
Id wager the vast majority of out of state students at any utah state school are LDS. I don't really care, im just not sure why we are surprised or offended by kids from Evanston and Afton going to school in utah.

Good. Climate change as caused by humans due to increased CO2 is the biggest crock of bullshyte ever. Makes me like reeves even more

Not as good as you think… I just visited UW with my daughter last weekend and we’re from Colorado. The front door cost per year is $40k for Colorado students, Good Nieghbor discount is $2k. To maximize the WUE benefit which is 1.5 times in state tuition, your kid has to get a 3.75 gpa and a minimum of a 1260 SAT score. This brings down the cost to $24k a year.

I’m not too worried about the gpa or SAT score but as much as I would like my daughter to attend UW, I’m betting that other schools will offer a better deal than that.

My oldest son is at South Dakota Mines and he gets in state tuition via thier WUE and cheaper than the best deal Wyoming offers. He’s playing football for them and he’s pretty happy with it.

Go Pokes!

Well you’d be wrong. U of u is 36% Mormon and Utah state is 40-50%

The fun of picking songs and making funny videos now gives way to making decisions and leading, What will the General do?
Have this song playing loudly in the background when Sawful and Burman enter Reeves office to speak with him about the state of the football program and let them know it was deemed very favorable by the fans who voiced their opinions about what it would take to enhance the game day experience:

Hint, hint, hint…
