Prepare yourself for another 4-8 Football Season

All I say is lets give this team and coaching staff a chance. I'm not writing anything off as a loss at this time. It's a big change going to a completely different offensive system, but let's see what this coaching staff can do. I like what I am hearing.

I'm not writing anything off as a loss at this time.

I'm writing off Texas.

If the Longhorns throttled Mizzou last year, then I don't see any hope for the Boys in Brown and Gold.

Sorry, fellas ...

We will suprise either Utah or BYU!

I agree with you! I think BYU is going down this year and that is the main reason I selected that game as a part of my 3-pack this year!

Coming from an elevation of 489' to 7220' there are a few strategies that can be used to wear out the Longhorns. Spread the ball all over the field, quarterback rollouts, screens, rotate our recievers and send 'em out on deep routes often. Honestly, I'm just hoping we can keep the spread to less than 21 points, but ya never know! If the wind blows right and the ball bounces our way........ if we go into the 4th close it will give our guys added adrenalin. I live at 6000' and I can feel the diff when in Laramie, of course I'm 50 yo though, but I'm sure they will too. Hey, a guy can hope...can't he?! :)

The season can go 1 of 2 ways. Christensen decides to sacrafice this year and get all the younger kids experience and we go 3-9 or he plays to win and we get to 5 wins. But I'd be very surprised if Christenson gets past 4 wins in the first year.

You really are great at predictions. I think he accomplished both things you mentioned, playing all the young kids while also playing to win and winning 5 with a good chance at 6.

Classic...I forgot about this thread.

I just had to bump this thread up again. Thanks again EPS for everything you do.

Classic...seems to me DC played the young kids and still got more wins than that EPS piece of work predicted.

Cockhill won't be back until:

1. After the bowl game if it turns out like a bWHYu or TCU game
2. Something happens with hoops, so he can disguise his anger again

Its ironic that some of you find this thread to be classic in that I was off by 1 game in my prediction. I predicted 5 games at best, the thing I didn't account for and the only thing about this season that was surprising was the play of ACS. He single handedly won 2 or 3 games that I didn't predict would happen, so thats a positive.
I'm actually proud of my predictions on this thread... I predicted an L to texas 45-10... the final score was 41-10... PRETTY DAMN CLOSE  I predicted around a 20 pt. embarrassing loss to Colorado, we embarrassingly lost 24-0. PRETTY DAMN CLOSE :D I wondered if we'd rollover for BYU... we did :P

There were others on this thread who predicted we'd beat "either byu or utah". etc... Apparently those predictions don't count.

Overall I'm very very pleased with my predictions from this thread. It's not that often you can predict a season as greatly as I have. I predicted 5 wins at best. ACS got us to 6.. Thanks ACS! Now Joe Glenn went 6-6 in 2007 and we didn't go to a bowl game.. But all of a sudden we go 6-6 and it looks like we will be going to the worst bowl game in the nation and everyone is excited? Um did we even beat a team with a winning record? Hell did we even score a TD on a team with a winning record?? Those are the things you should be thinking about.

So the fact that you predicted 3 wins if we played some of the freshman doesn't mean anything either? A bowl game is a bowl game, its a nice ending to the season, a chance for extra practice, and fun for the fans, and of course I am excited. Going to a bowl is much better than no post season appearance for a laundry list of reasons. The only thing I should be thinking about is why I am still wasting time responding to your post.

PS - I like Joe Glenn, but we could have easily been 7-5 or 8-4 that year we went 6-6, we fell apart down the stretch, so we didn't go to a bowl game that year because we failed to win the games we needed to that year. Regardless of how we did it, we won the games we needed to get to a bowl this year.

:D Except the premise of your prediction was if we played all the seniors, we'd get to 5 wins. According to your prediction of what would happen playing mostly freshman we would have only won 3 games... so you were off by 3 games.

Joe Glenn went 6-6 in 2006, not 2007. He also did not make a bowl game in his first year. We went 4-7.

He also went 15-31 in MWC play for an overall MWC winning percentage of .326

.500>.326

You make it too easy buddy :D

1) Don't give a crap about your predictions.

2) Damn right we're excited to go to a bowl game. For as bad as things had gotten, and how rough this season could have been, it wasn't, so stop looking at all the negative.

3)No, we did not beat a team with a winning record. But we still beat 6 teams and are going bowling, so suck it.

4) Yes, we did score TD's on teams with winning records. Weber, Texas, Utah, and TCU. And, yes we're all well aware that one team was FCS, One was on special teams, one was a trick play, and one was on defense. But, that's not what you asked, but I'm sure you'd point out eventually.

5) If Wyoming wins its bowl game it will be against a team with a winning record, so neener. I'm sure you'll find something to bitch about regardless, but it's fine, that's what you do.

6)Using more than 2 emoticons in one post should get you fired from something. But I'll cut you some slack and a be a bigger douche for the hell of it.
:D :) ;) :( :o :?  :x :P   :tickedoff:   :!:  :?:    :| :willybs:   :geek:  :ugeek: :coffee:  :orly:   :thumb:  :winky: :twocents: :brick:

HA! Take that! 38 emoticons to your 4!

I like Glenn as well, but the reason we were only 6-6 in 2006 is because our special teams cost us a couple games, yet they only got worse over 2007 and 2008. That has always been my biggest complaint about his era, changes came WAY to slow. (my only other complaint was lack of targeting better talent, can't get em if you don't try)

In the corporate world if a small item cost you a huge deal one year, you would fix it right away, and make sure it isn't an issue for 3 years straight.

Special teams played a HUGE part in most our wins this year and it only took DC one year to fix it. (ACS didn't hurt)

Our schedule was much tougher this year than 2006, & who cares, I think the 2006 team could beat this years, but that still didn't get us a bowl game. 1996 (10-2) didn't get us a bowl game, so just let us be happy about this one.

TWISTED INTO THIS:

NO WHERE IN THE ORIGINAL POST WAS THE WORD SENIOR OR FRESHMAN MENTIONED, BUT SOMEHOW IT WINDS UP IN YOUR EXPLANATION OF IT.

YOU LOSE. :winky:

were excited because we were bowling and you said if DC goes young we will be 3-9 well DC went young and we produced the MWC freshmen of the year and we went 6-6 and are headed to a bowl granted its not an iconic bowl but its a bowl never the less and we have a bright future that true fans are excited about

YOU MAKE NO SENSE! I win, you lose. :) There's no shame in losing. You put up a good effort.
